Is iit the 4 in 1, or the esc, or the gyro? confused. my tail keeps drifting after a small crash, maybe the part that controls the tail motor is damaged. I would be so thankful for any info

the gyro and the proportional mixer, the gyro will hold the tail in one spot as best it can, which still sucks with the blade, and the proportional will control how much power it gets

What rabid said is true to a point, but its a little more complicated than that. What really keeps the tail in one place is the proportional, thats what you would adjust to get the tail to not drift. The gyro gain is only the amount of counterforce the gyro should output to the Tail ESC to hold its commanded position. Adjust both until the heli does not wag nor yaw in a hover, then go do some Forward flight, you will probably turn the gain down a bit more to get rid of hunting. The blade CP can be adjusted so that the tail holds really well in a hover and in forward flight, alas it is not a Heading Hold gyro so its not very good for 3D moves, some expert pilots can make a go of it, but almost all have upgraded the tail to a better design.

In short the tail motor is controlled by the esc, which in turn is controlled by the gyro. Therefore get the proportional setting locked in first then the gain, go back and forth between the 2 until its set just the way you like it.

lol, thanks for correcting me, I'm a lazy typer... but after I flew a cpp with a HH gyro, I then flew one without it, and when I punched the throttle, the tail kicked about 6 inches, so I think that any gyro that does not have HH is pretty much pointless, unless you feel like keeping on the tail for the entire flight, tho I guess that could be good practice too.
