Had 3 good flights tonight and my fears of a repeat gear strip proved unfounded - the Z50-800 certainly impressive and good bang for $ - seems to run quite cool - I'd guess ~150F but will measure up this weekend. Flying the bird interesting - more buoyant and floatier than the T600 - encourages you to get into Tic Tocs and more agile on the collective - seems a bit less inertia though - more prone to drift through a roll or flip and definitely more affected by wind gusts - getting around 5:30 for 2800 mAh faily hard flying so I think 5:00 probably a better limit for the 3300 stick which impressed me - seemed to have more guts than the 3700 EVO25 - maybe weight difference -= anyway loving to fly this bird and can't wait for tomorrow afternoon - posted FDR in the sticky and will get some HS and temp readings this w/e.

The Mikado heli is easy to build. Learning the Magic Box commands (VBar) may be a whole new ball game. Perhaps it is as easy as the software makes it look.

What ESC you using on your 600 John? Certainly looks like its making good power!

The Jazz 55-10-32 which lives up to its reputation of being very conservatively rated at 55A - as you can see from the FDR I was peaking up to 85A and it wasn't getting warm let alone hot - Mr Mel a while ago reported poor power output using the Jazz and the Z50 but I've got no complaints :)

The Jazz has auto adjusting routines built in which cannot be overridden. That is why they work so efficiently , this results in not MAX power compared to some other esc's but they just work so well

So where do I order one of these new Z80-500 motors to try out?

Matt, currently the only person who carries the Z50-800 is TP Packs, at least only one I know of in North America.
