Hey all, Im new to the nitro heli world, but not new to nitro engines. (i used to race nitro cars few years ago) I have a few Trex 450's (V1.5 & a V2) and I want to get a nitro 600 pro. I was looking to get the following items,

* GY611 gyro combo
* 3x HS6975 servos (for swash)
* 1 HS6965 servo for throttle
* OS 50 hyper
* Align pipe
* Align carbon blades

Im running a Futaba 9C super radio and not sure which PCM reciever to run on the nitro? Do any work better than the others? Feel free to give me any advise you may have to help me out! Thanks in advance.

Hi

looks like you have it sorted , you wont be disappointed this is such a great heli.. I would recommend the Dx7 for the radio you will never need a frequency pin and is easy to program..

I have not fitted a gov on my heli at the mo as I am just doing loops and flips at the mo , I am happy with the curves i'm running will add a gov when I need a bit more.., think you should be fine without, unless your into heavy 3D.

I did fit a header tank , few people will recommend one while some others say that you will not need it, I like it as I have heard of guys sucking air and ending with a crash.also it gives me a few extra min flight time, if not a header then maybe opt for a fuel mag.

Another thing you might think about is a alu fan which works better than the plastic align one is better to put it in now rather than pulling the engine latter..

Thanks aevans692, I have been doing some reading here on Helifreak learning as much as I can about the 600N. Im currently watching the Finless vids on the 600N pro build he did. I do plan on picking up a metal fan when I do get one. (anytime now) I also plan on running it without the governer for now, Im basicly doing the same kinda flying you ar right now. I also looked into a header tank as well, hell, an extra minute or two of flight time never hurt.

If you don't run a govenor you don't need a metal fan. the plastic one will work just fine. Ron

I would ditch the Align blades and go with Radix. If you can't find new ones in stock, call up CY direct and order some of the blemish blades. I've seen dozens at my local fields and most the time you can't even find the flaw. Most importantly they fly perfect.

You might want to consider a mini servo on the throttle, will save some money and weight. Nothing wrong with a full size but if you are starting off now is the time to consider it. Align makes a adapter plate so you can run a Hitec HS-81 I believe in the place of the throttle.

The 611 is a great gyro, but there are other choices out there for cheaper. Logitec 6100, Spartan 760, and JR 770. I recently switched from the 611 to the JR 770 and very happy. Also it's $50 cheaper.

Add the Align 2-in-1 BEC to the list, make sure it's the newer version with the sealed case and all the wires coming out the same side. It comes with a 1900mah 2S lipo which works just fine.

For sport flying and mild 3D, yes.

Anthony.L, thanks for the reply, I could go for the radix blades, Im not really set on anything yet, what ever seems to work best. I dont mind spending the extra cash on a GY 611 gyro, I actually put that in the budget. I was wondering if I really needed a big digital servo for the throttle, I suppose you could use any ol servo for that hun?

Good call on the Align 2-in-1, I forgot about that, I will add that to my list, thanks again!

I would spend the money and get a quality servo with decent speed for the throttle. Main reason being down the road when you add a gov the throttle servo will be more important. My suggestion was do you look at a lighter mini servo using the Align adapter plate, or just go with a full size. It's up to you, I'm switching from a Futaba S9254 to a S3155 myself.

The blemish Radix blades are $67 and for the money beat the Align blades all day long.

401 only for sport flying, and mild 3-D ???:roll: You can go a LONG way with a 401. Disclaimer-------------Assuming properly set up.:wink:

the JR 7703D gyro beats hell out of the 611, and a bit cheaper too. :)

I want it

My two censts is put the governor in now you can always hook it up to the rx later. I would do it while you building the heli to save yourself the headache off putting it in there later. this way you dont look like this little guy:arggg: just trying to save you a little be of time and pain thats all. It i think best to do this stuff when you do your build in the first get go :YeaBaby:

What about a reciever? Im wondering which Futaba PCM reciever I should get. Also, which pipe should I get? I would rather have a more quiet pipe than a really loud one. Thanks again for the help!

I fitted the Align metal fan and CYE ATG governor sensor after the having had about 6 flights, It was a pig of a job getting the sensor in working around all the servos and the clutch bell, but it can be done.

I did fit the gyro mounting tray (up front) and shorter canopy stand-offs; and will definitely be doing the same again on my next 600n.
