Finally got to break in my new Knight 50 3D with a YS50 motor and Funtech pipe at the Southern California Heli Club's monthly funfly. After hitting the ignition switch on the Align 2 in 1 regulator, it fired up like a champ thanks to Bert Mabganua, Richard Clems and Jimmy Hirahara helping me out in getting the minors figured out on my tx and stuff.

Here's the video of my fourth flight taking it easy while breaking in the YS50.

After installing a new OS Hyper 50, I had some issues with my gears being really tight because the alignment was somehow off. I ended up fixing the problem but haven't had a chance to fly it yet. Hopefully this Sunday.

My original YS50's crackshaft bolt broke on the 6th flight which is the reason I have a bew OS now. Its been 3 weeks in repair with no word on when I'll get it back from YS Parts and Services.

Also, I've been experiencing tail wag every flight for about 8 flight total. I took a washer out of the blade grips assembly to make the fix tighter as there was too much loose play. Seems others with Knights are also having this same problem.

Hopefully, my next flight will be nice and smooth.

This being my first Nitro seems like there's lots of headaches involved versus flying eletrics. When I had my Raptor e550, it was flawless in its setup till the day I sold it.

I think, not that anyone cares what I think, that the constant tag wag while the ys was due to the crankshaft being cracked, or bent while fan was installed.
I saw one break in flight while the heli was hovering, luckily.
Prior to that the heli has tag wags from the time is was first started with the YS.
Not saying that it is a YS issue as mine is awsome, infact my motor and fan setup went into the same heli that broke the crank for its very next flight.
The cranks seem to be hard and put under stress when fan is being installed.
I have my second YS in my Knight, first one being run to leannnn. And I have had no crank probelms as of yet. Going on 3 or more gallons on this one.

Yea I thinkn my YS50 crankshaft problem might have been a isolated one. Though I have seen a couple others break in other places to on these forums. Not too common. As for the tail wagg, it was on both the YS and OS. Hopefully this weekend it won't wag because I took off the washer that goes over the nut tightening the blade grips.

Size the links going to the tail blade grips, make sure the tail moves very free and if you are using drive wire make sure it is very straight and free as well.

I have a slight problem with getting the tail control rod to not bend. With the JR770 3D gyro and 8900 tail servo, I have to use a shorter servo throw, 11mm. This puts the ball link much further away from the tail boom and the control rod has to bend to reach the rod control guides. I need to figure out a way to move the servo closer to the tail boom, or get longer guides, like the ones for the 600N. Or perhaps just wait until I move the tail servo up front. That should also resolve the problem.

Just move the first guide back a little farther and try that.
