I opened up my DX7 to fix the neck strap holder (it was too loose) this wasn't my first time to mess around inside, I was very carefull and followed the guide stickied above, after putting it back together my DX7 wouldn't turn on!
I did mess up a little when it was open, I realized that I hadn't unplugged the battery before I started, but I was very careful and am almost positive I didn't short anything
one thing I noticed, which gives me hope, is that when I try to power on the DX7 the bind light flashes green for a milisecond before going out, it seems that it is getting some power... nothing shows up on the front screen though.... no sounds or anything
please help me!

crack that baby back open and make sure none of the boards got unplugged.....also make sure that the bottom board didn't "pinch" any of the wire bundles on either side.....I'd un-mount that board to check the wires under it..
Look cearfully at the wires on the left side of said lower board as that is the side the power connectons enter it....check those connections carefully as well as for loose or pinched wires
I found a piece of cold solder in mine when I tightened strap hook.

well I've tried everything, can't seem to figure it out... I guess it's time to ship it to Horizon, hopefully the warranty will cover it, am not looking foward to next couple of weeks without my Tx
anyone have any idea how long it will take for them to take a look at it?

Similar problem. More so with the battery, however. It just pisses me off to have a new radio system less that a week and having to send it in for warranty service. The sellers want all of it to be handled by Horizon. Sometimes I think that the place you bought it should be the ones inconvenienced, especially if it is bad out of the box. I'm done ranting.

It is not the sellers, but Horizon that wants all warranty service to come back to them.

Might seem like the obvious, but the battery is charged up? I know on mine it will shut off automatically when below a certain voltage.

If you remove the battery with the main switch in the on position the TX loses its flash memory and has to be re-set by Horizon.:smokin:

well I just got my DX7 back from Horizon, actually it wasn't mine... they replaced it at no cost! great service by Horizon!
the only thing is that I now must reprogram my plane (not that big of a deal) and my heli (not looking forward to this), I wasn't smart enough to copy down my settings before sending it away :(
I guess I'll just start from the beggining and go from there, any one got any tips for doing this? I'm not really looking foward to it, but I guess it probably won't be that bad, and I can't realy complain, new Tx at no cost!

hmm, i wonder how are we gonna sent back to Horizon for Asian ppl like us. oh, other than switching off, then remove the battery to take note that might need to be sent back for reset, is there any other negligence things that we shall look out for? m getting mine next week. thanks.
