Hello everyone, I just ordered my Raptor 30 V2 and should get here in a day or so. I will be using a 7CHP, 401 gyro (i need to get the servo for it). The 30V2 i ordered is a 29bb kit without motor. What motor should i get the TT Pro-39H or something else? also should i get the extra 20 BB's and put them in when i build? And is there any other upgrades i should do when i am building to avoid replacing later? Anything any of you can think of would be great.

Congrats on the new heli, as far as the engine goes I have been hearing good things about the new OS 37, the TT engines can be kind of finicky sometimes and I would definately get the bearing upgrade.
All the other upgrades can wait spend the upgrade money on fuel or a set of carbon blades.

Thanks for the input. I thought i read somewhere that the TT 39 puts out more power and is more reliable, but if you think that the OS is better i might just go with that. I will get the BB upgrade and ordered the Reflex sim as well. Also do you know where i can get a fly bar locking tool for when i am setting the pitch on the blades?

Shogun413,

The TT39 put out more power than th OS32 for sure, but I'm not sure about the OS 37. I've heard good things about it. The TT 39 has no issues that I'm aware of like the 50 does. The extra bearings are very much worth the money.

I am an OS guy in the 30-50 class engine, YS on the 80-90..... so let me say,

I gave a friend a TT36, (yes, he is still a friend) and it is one of the finest running little engines I have seen. Perfect idle and plenty of power for doing basic flying. He loves it and I can see why, starts reliably and doesn't quit and it was free.

That said, I would recommend a OS37 to any new flyer (I'm getting ready to buy a OS37 for my Airwolf project), just getting into the hobby and if the dollars are a problem, the OS32 runs like a sewing machine. Still plenty of power to do most any basic 3D move. Lacks a little power on the tough stunts, but still a good dependable engine.

Go with the 37. I have had the 39. Good power, but not as smooth as the 37.
Also get all the bearings..It is well worth it. It is a good idea to get a kit not an ARF. Build it yourself. This way you know everything is tight, and you will learn alot about how your new helicopter works. The only other thing I would recomend is a head button. Not required, but a nice option to have.
Have fun with your soon to be "addiction"

Thanks for all the input guys. I was looking through the tower hobbies tower talk the other day and came across this engine.
.37 SZ-H Ringed from OS. It is 149.99 and looks to be a good deal. It is stated that it is great and will not bog when doing 3D. Did any of you hear anything about it? Yes i have ordered the BB upgrade as well. I got the kit form so i can know the in's and out's of the heli. I love building things. Other than that what muffler do you recommend with this engine?
