View Full Version : Regulator on a 11.1v LiIon?
Will a duralite regulator work on an 11.1 LiIon (3s3p) pack or are they limited to 2s packs?

I am not sure if the regulator will handle the 11.1 volt packs. Why would you want 11.1 volts supplied to a regulator that is cutting the voltage to 5.1, 5.3, 5.6, or 6volts?
I believe more voltage would cause the regulator to work harder and not be as efficient.
Also since Hobby Electronics builds the Duralite regulators. They also build the regulators for Radio South. Here is what Radio South as on the specs for the regulators they sell.
Two versions are available, 5.1v and 5.6v output . Both will work on 5-10 cell packs.
I would think the Duralite regulators would fall under the same specs as for cells that can be used. 10 cells in nicads or nimh would be 12 volts.

I built the pack for our camera mount to run the transmitter and would like to run the receiver and servos off of it as well. It's a 3s3p 4000mAh pack.
Thanks for the information, maybe I'll go with the radio south regulator since the specs are more clearly defined on them and will eliminate any nervouseness ;)
