Well i finally broke down and made the switch to all Digital. we dumped all of the Minolta SLR stuff and purchased the latest low end Digital SLR by Canon. Actually its the middle format.

Canon D350 (Rebel XT) 8megapixel

Uses all of the EOS Lenses so we have a few new lenses coming as well.

This thing takes awesome photo's and in sports mode it does some super fast autofocusing and with the buffer you can click em off pretty quick, actually just as fast as the old Minolta 700si. !!! I cant wait to go to a fun fly !!!

You will really like it Craig. My 10D ROCKS, still running strong after over 2 years. :)

You certainly made the right choice going with a digital SLR. I made the switch about 3 years ago to a canon D60 and now own a 20D with a bunch of lenses. Of all my lenses one of the best $80 I spent was on the EF 50mm F1.8 prime lense. Makes the camera light as a feather and you can shoot in virtually no light and it take excellent super sharp pictures! Another great lense is the 70-200 IS F2.8 L Series lense. Takes excellent action shots at funfly's and kids programs (had to throw my justification clause in there to get it past my wife!).

I look forward to seeing some of your pictures.... Unfortunately for me I'm the only one around who knows how to run both my camera and my heli at the same time so all I have it some static shots! :^(

Yeah I just joined team 20D about a week ago. Just have the kit 18-55 lens (free with the body in some dealy here so why not) Now Just need some long glass!

Anyone want to buy me the 1200mm prime and a 2x extender? I don't know if that thing is for taking pictures or shooting down low flying satililites!

(actually looking at the 70-200 USM f/4L the 2.8L IS would be nice but its heavier and pricier)

I have had my Canon 20D for about 3 weeks now and have loved every second of it. I got the 28-135mm IS USM and a 580EX Speedlite to go with it. I can not say enough about it. I loved my D30 but it is a distant memory now that the 20 is in the house. My profile below has some images I shot with it last week. Both Megan and Andrea were shot with the 20D, Kim and Val were shot with the D30.

I just picked up 2 Sigma lenses from E-Bay. 47th Street Photo. $169.00 for both. 75-300 and 28-80. They are pretty heavy compared to the new EF-S lenses but for the price and quality of Sigma they are worth it.

I would love to get one of the f2.8 lenses but the price definately goes up. I'm not even sure we will need one so long as its sunny out, this camera is awesome and is very comparable to the 20D for a bit less cash.

Here is a picture using the 300 across the yard, overcast conditions. The camera chose to use the flash and everything was set to auto everything. Came out pretty good!

Daniel.. pretty pictures of pretty girls!! Looks like a lot of fun!

I found it very interesting how there was an immediately noticable difference in the quality of pictures between the ones shot with the D30 and the 20D! I've noticed very similar differences between my D60 and 20D as well but your pictures were very obvious!

Spitfire.. A good friend of mine has the 70-200 F4. It is a great lense as well you can't go wrong there and it is about 1/3 the cost of 2.8. They are both L lenses and you just can't go wrong with any L series lense from Canon.

Dang Dan, now I really know why you quit flying heli's !!!

If I get a D20, do you think I can get models to pose for me like you found???

Seriously, beautiful work my friend !!!

Think you need some "L glass" for that :D , though it might be worth a try.

This is the first heli shot I've got with the 20D, it must be good cause it can make a raptor v1 look nice

Now just need to get the hang of USM in post...
