Hello guys!

Got a slight very tiny problem here. I've put the K&B Tail blades on my hurry and these Blades Rock. Very fast Pyro rate. Same Headspeed as before but with these Tail Blades it is insane how fast it spinns around. But there is a down side in my case. Since i have the K&B Blades on my Tail is waging a little. I checked Belttension and it is quite tight ( not to tight i hope). It is difficult to say. And the Gain is set to 70% for a 401 gyro with a 9254 servo.

Any othere ideas what i could have messed up.

Greetings from good old Europe

i installed those tail blades and i also have a tail wag. i decided to go back to the stock tail blades and now all is well. i do like the k&b blades because of the color. i got the orange set and it makes the tail a lot easier to see but at the cost of tail wag.

All reports on the Stiffies I have seen say you need to reduce the gain because they work better.

Thanks guys for the quick reply!

I dialed down the gain allready but maybe not enough. Thanks Pinecone for pointing me in the right direction. I will test fly it tomorrow morning. They report good weather and no wind and it is a hollyday over here! :-D

3sgte: I will let you know if i can get the tail wag under control. I have the orange one's too btw.

One more thing to setting the Gain! On what value is your Delay poti on the 401. Do i have to reduce or increase the delay. Mine was set to 50 before.

You gotta reduce the gain with the K&B blades. I got a really fast wag in FFF when I fitted them to my Hurri... dropped the gain a couple of % and it sorted it.

I guess you're using the Rappie 30 size ones ... they are a little longer so be careful that you don't ding 'em on the ground. I added a small extension to my tail fin to provide a bit more protection...

i think the delay for a digital servo should always be set to 0.

Sorry missed that.. yes 9254 is very fast. Delay should be 0.

Ok i have flown it today. Reduced the Gain from 50 to 45% and the delay is at 0. The Tail wag is almost gone but not completely. I can fly like this no probs.

One question: What would happen if reduce the gain to much. Is there a "not enough gain". How will the heli behave??

You'll notice it initially if you do a full power climb out - or pitch pump... the tail will move off center.
