Logo 600 3D Flybarless & Helicommand Rigid for AP??? Any comments?
A friend of mine has had the Logo 600 3D with V-bar setup for a couple of weeks. I admit I got a little jealous when he brought it over to paint the canopy. My T-Rex 600's are great and all but Mikado has a little something going on with this bird. Approx 1.5 - 2 Lbs lighter. Hearingbone maingear is whisper quiet and tough. Tail drive has no gears, just a large pulley on the mainshaft and a pulley at the tail, with a couple of idlers at the front of the boom. Framework is literally 2 pieces. Right half and Left half. Moulded and super strong. If I add my Camera and mount to this heli it would weigh as much as my stock T-Rex 600. This thing is QUIET. Blade noise is pretty much all you hear.

Way I figure it you could use the flybarless heli kit and Helicommand Rigid instead of the V-bar electronics. (Helicommand Rigid $600 US V-Bar $700 US) I believe Helicommand has all the sensors for flybarless as well as a built in tail Gyro. Logo does not come with Motor & ESC. Probably cost $1000 more than T-rex 600 If you went with a neu motor and jazz esc but would include a good flight stabilizer.

IMHO this would be an awesome setup for AP. Am I missing something? Has anyone used the Helicommand for flybarless?

I have just for a few mins on my Logo 10/flybarless. I have it currently setup on a AP2000i with a pair of 240's but was fortunate to be able to 'borrow' a HC Rigid for a day.

I just upgraded my 3A to a Rigid and will be going flybarless with a Silence.

It was a little twitchy but I know it was just the settings. It was on a bergen and I literally tossed it into the Logo , bench tested the movements and hovered it.

It'll be about 2 weeks before I get the vario head and when I do, I'll post my flybarless/Rigid findings.

My guess is it will be great. That's what I've read on the scale german forum's.

Thanks kookboy (interesting name) for the input. Seems that anyone who has used HC has been very happy with it once setup. With the new Logo's out I am looking at having one up and running by next spring. Just wanted some more input before committing.

Esprit have been testing the HeliCommand RIGID with only the gyros as a cheaper alternative to the vstabi for 3D flying. So far the results are promising - but you need a better tail gyro for fast backwards, etc.

This 500 has the HELI COMMAND rigid in it

It works really well as long as you get the new version of software and you have to run a tail gyro if you plan on flying 3d the tail gyro it has might work for mild sport flying
