Had my RX go out on Sat. Luckily it happened right as I was bringing up the RPM to take off. Robert Johns was there at the line with me and we both saw the swash move up and down 2 times and the motor cut in and out. Once that happened, I had no control of the heli after that, luckily it was only at a fast idle.
Funny thing was Clint could control the heli with his 9Z, but we tried 3 different 9CHP's and 2 different freqs and the 9C would not control the heli with my RX at all. Installed new RX and my crystal, and we were back in business. :)
Thanks for the help troubleshooting Clint, Robert and Zak!!

Hey Will nice luck.
That has happened to me twice with my 149dp and 9c. First time on the ground second about 20 feet in the air. That one sucked. Still haven't got all the pieces back in order. Glad yours was on the ground. :D

Hey Will,
Your luck sounds as good as mine. The week before B'ham, I was having some tail rotor issues with my Stinger 50, well, I thought it was just some gyro setting problems and asked DanW to give me a hand with it at B'ham. Well, when we pulled the canopy, upon inspection, the TR servo was locked, then would gradually move to the centered position. Looks like servo motor problems. If I had taken off like that at B'ham, it would have been a disaster. At any rate, I felt very lucky.
I sent the 9253 off to Futaba today. I will give a report on Helifreak to the quality and the cost of their service. I have heard bad and good things..... this will be a good test.
Fly safe and check out those heli's before each flight !
Hey Will,
Yeah, you got lucky on that one :) :)
Hows that thing fly with all the upgrades? That tail box of Craig's looks awesome!

It is very tight and precise. I really like it.
The servo suppports do their job well. I snapped a oval link end off at the bottom of an auto right before I was about to touchdown on Sat. Very lucky it did not happen when I was 100' up on the approach to landing. I had just bounced an auto right before, and I must have messed up the oval link then??
Overall I have to say that I got lucky 2 times with the R50 Sat. My V-Blades survived the boomstrike no problem. Gotta love strong blades. The rest of the parts was like 65.00. Not to bad. ;)

I still have the pic of the moment the oval link snapped...want me to post it, or email it?
Was a lucky save BTW... broke on TOUCH DOWN of an auto to boot..the pic shows one blade 90 degrees to the rotation of the disk...shot of a lifetime.
