Hello All:

I'm overwhelmed (who isn't, I guess). I will be graduating from my Honeybee FP to my new Mini Titan and I have yet to determine the best motor / pinion combo.

Will be running Align 325 woodies, Castle Phoenix 35a and BEC, 3s 2100 20c lipo's, GY401, 9650 tail and I want to focus on basic flight and sport flying (no need to even think about 3D) and LONG FLIGHT TIMES. Motors are relatively cheap, so I don't mind paying to upgrade in the future.

What would be the best motor / pinion combo to achieve my goal? Please give my your suggestion with a few details to help differentiate your suggestion from the others.

Thanks!!!

The JGF450TH sounds like a good motor for what you are looking for. It is very efficient and the price is usually around 50 bucks. I would try an 11 tooth pinion, but have a 12 or 13 tooth on hand in case it doesn't have enough headspeed. My Mini Titan would get tail bounces (constant up and down wag) if I tried to run too low of an rpm. Definately do NOT use the TT blades. They are extremely inneficient. If you are trying to get every extra second of flight time, a good set of carbons are more effiicient and should give you slightly more flight time over the Align 325 woodies.

Be sure you have CNC rotor head before you change to other brand of blades.Somehow,Stock MT don't track well with other brand beside own stock woodie blade.

I put Align 325 woodies on mine and could not get the tracking right. I then swopped the plastic upper mixing arms ONLY for the TT metal versions and could adjust my tracking with the Align blades to be spot on.
