Hallo,

I am using the CC35 with JGF 500TH in my E325 Mini Titan, I have geard down to a 11 tooth pinion but my headspeed is still 3080rpm (SkyTach) with ESC 75% open which is much more than I want!
I think I have set up everythig correct like shown in Bob's videos for the CC85HV
Is it bad for the govenor or ESC to go down near 50% throttle?
It is hard to find a 10 tooth pinion for the MT!

Flighttime is 9 min. till the cut off gets to work, this is 2 minutes more as with the stock equippment, all components stay realy cool!

When messuring with SkyTach is it right to see 4 paddles and blades that stay still in focus?

Thanks
Martin

Flying at 50% is not recommended afaik...
Any ESC will heat-up, most electric heli power systems are most effiecient at 85%-90% and more.
So in your case i also would try the 10tht pinion or fly with a higher headspeed.
The 450TH would maybe have been a better choice for your desired headspeed.

The 500TH is fine for his desired headspeed.... if he was running 3S :P

JGF sells a 10T pinion for running this motor on 4S at a sane headspeed. http://justgofly.com/Order%20Form.htm#Pinions You want 3.17mm Pinions 0.5 modulus, 10T. They're $3.95 each.

OK, there was something wrong with the ESC after resetting it the headspeed is now 2750 rpm at 75% throttle with the 13 tooth pinion!

But when switching to ST-2 which has 85% throttle there is no difference in rpm????

I am running the CC35 in Govenor high.

Any ideas why there is no rpm change???

Thanks

What are you using for battteries?

Did you try making a huge change in ST1... say make it 95% and see what happens? This should put you at 3200 or so I think. Also, what are your ESC settings, especially timing. JGH recommends high timing for the 500TH.

Timing was "Standard Advance" I have set it to High right now!

These are my Settings:

Thanks for your Help!

I think, the problem is in measuring headspeed. In focus, you should see only 2 paddles and two blades. Main rotor should looks like stooped. If you see 4paddles and 4 blades it means the headspeed is half of the value which you read on skytach.

I hope, you understand me.

As well, in Bob's video section, he has a series of videos on setting up the CC85HC esc. Its not the same controller, but you should watch it. It has a great explanation of how you should be setting up governor on your model for peak performance from your motor and ESC.

Thanks everyting works fine after resetting the CC35!

Now I get ~ 2700 rpm with 13 tooth pinion at 75% throttle, but at 85% I get only 100rpm more is that enough for the govenor?

Thanks

I guess it depends on you. Does 2800 have enough performance for you? I'm thinking that if you want 2700 in normal and to stick with the 75/85 limits, then you're pretty much stuck with 2800 in Idle-up. Most people deisgn their gearing around what they want in Idle-Up. If you do all your flying in normal, set it up how you want normal to respond. 2800 should be fine for the occasional playing in Idle up. You really don't need 3k headspeed unless you're really looking for high performance. Not to mention, your batts will last longer.
