I am new to this and have bought a DX7 controller and Phoenix flight sim. I am about to buy myself a Mini Titan E325, and have read a lot of stuff on RC heli's, but what I cant seem to understand, is what is best of what.
1. What does a BEC do? and do I need one?
2. What does the ESC do and how many do I need?
3. What make, is good enough, seems like on manufacturers of esc, bec and lipo's there are too many to choose from  Please advise.

BEC is a Battery Eliminator Circuit. It means the reciever is powered from the motor lipo instead of a separate 4 cell reciever pack and no you don't need one.

A ESC is an Electronic Speed Controller you only need one. Its a throttle for the electric motor and has a built in bec to power the reciever through the throttle channel.

Thunder Tiger has an ARF version of the mini titan that comes with a speed controller and motor. Its not the best of the best but it flys pretty well and it takes the guess work out of what to buy. All you need then is some servos, a gyro and servo and some batteries and a charger.
