Has anyone done the conversion to the 8mm Spindle and what process is needed to be done to make it happen... I see Compass has done some work on their website and seem to have some new stuff out. Just wondering as I have no issues with the 6mm, I'm just getting ready to order new dampners and this question popped up.

The only modification that I know needs to be done is to enlarge the hole that goes through the headblock for the spindle from 8mm to 8.1mm.I should be trying out the new spindle and dampener system next weekend at Mulberry.

I mean that doesn't sound to be a simple process to me. That really should be a precise operation :thinking. Won't it make all the difference if its a little washed out or am I wrong??. I would just like to know if its simpler than what I think it is. Is Compass going to sell a modified headblock?

Yes there will be new head blocks available. But you need just use a 5/16 bit and run it thru and wiggle it from both sides so the 8mm shaft will go thru. I will be doing one tonight so i will let you know how it goes.
Also the rudder relocation kit is very nice. Will post some pics up tomm. Going to bling out the Knight for Mullberry.

i opened mine up to 8.5mm it took about 10secs with a new drill bit and a decent cordless drill. i took the flybar out and the carrier bearings and gave it a wash after doing the deed to get rid of any swarf.
it doesnt need to be accurate as its just clearance for the spindle to move.

hello people I have put the new 8mm spindle in its great, u feel more confident when flying and also it didn't bend when I crashed, (not saying that it won't) also seeing as it comes with new blade grips and bearings, dampers etc. its worth the purchase!
regards to all
