View Full Version : 50 collective servo choice?

What seems to be the collective servo of choice for the Raptor 50? I've got a DS8411 on 6 volts, attached to the shorter ball location on the pitch lever. It's not providing solid and crisp pitch control. The servo has loads of power, and not super fast by any means but quick. If I start collective pumping, there's a terrible lag between up and down. I simulated a load by putting my finger on the collective arm and run the stick up and down. I could easily slow the servo. This servo was the most powerful I have in my shop so I stuck it in there. I see others flying these things like crazy with what seems to be no problem at all.
Maybe I'm expecting too much from the Raptor.

I'm such a dummy. I have a Lipo power supply on my Raptor. I'm using a Fromeco aircraft regulator and the entire system is set up for 6v. When I purchased the regulator I was unaware that there were several versions of the aircraft regulator. I didn't discover this until I was on their site eyeballing the Arizona Heli regulator. I fount the aircraft regulator comes with up to three output leads that will allow up to 9 amps. That's when the light came on. I've got the single output regulator that only allows 3 amps. That's why the 8411 has no guts for collective. The 8411 needs three amps just to breathe. I've got a new aircraft regulator coming. I'll get an Arizona for the next heli I get.
Thanks for the replies fellas!!
