Hello! I'm against lurking so I thought to just bite the bullet and introduce myself. I'm just learning, my husband is a member here. I've been going to the flying field with him but only recently started practising on the Sim. I am starting to get it...but so far I'm the best at crashing! Thank god for the little red button!
I'm hoping to get good on the sim and maybe start buddy-boxing in the spring. My birthday is in April and I just might be asking for my first Heli!!!
Anyway...Hello, and here's to the little red button!

Heck, he should get you a new heli for his birthday. Most of these guys would kill for a wife that flies.

Welcome!
I've been at this hobby for 18 months and my wife has never even come to the park to see me fly or accepted an offer to have a play on the sim, so I think it is marvelous that you can share your partner's interest. :smokin:

Thanks everyone! I'm sure I'll be asking you all a lot of questions in the future! As for supporting my hubby, he was responsible and learned on a sim for like a year. What more could I ask? I think I've gone to the field with him at least 50% of the time? I would take a book or my dog and chat the guys up. I haven't seen any women pilots tho. I have always worked in a male dominated field so I'm used to being the only woman in any given circumstance.
As for your suggestions on getting a heli for HIS birthday? I LOVE it. But...and I hate to sound so coy, I wonder if i could also request that I get matching designer shoes too? maybe a handbag for spare parts? KIDDING! lol!

Hey!
I have a wife that is probably a little further along than you are. She has supported my flying from the start and has been to IMAC (airplane stuff) judging school. She is a tough judge on the IMAC boys just ask any of them.... This Christmas we got a trainer for the whole family. I fly both airplanes and Heli's and now the rest of the familly will start flying in the spring and hopefully enjoy the sport as much as I do....
I use to think there was GUY things that guy's did together and Girl things that girl's did but my mind has been changed about that old thinking......
It can't do anything but make things better for the whole family.....

Welcome azure!
Just a noob here myself. Glad to see your interest in helis. I do believe the adrenalin rush would be the same for a woman or a man. You will love it.

Welcome Asure
I was just reading around the forums and stumbled on this thread, just wondering what's going on with you:dontknow. The thread just sorta stalled out, are you still doing the sim thing or have you been out flying at a field. Just wondering if you're still doing the thing. My wife's been out to the field with maybe 4 times in the past year and one of those time she stayed most of the day. She actually chatted with my bud's and chilled out in our reclining chair reading a book. I was telling her that when were not flying it's just fun to chillax, after all it's the weekend :YeaBaby:. It would be great if she were to get involved in flying, do you any tips I use to try and persuade her?

Hey hey girl! You're in Boulder? Come fly with us in Arvada sometime! We could sure use some more girls at the field, and we're also trying to build up the helicopter contingent... so far there's only 4 or 5 of us, and we're all rank noobs... You guys are welcome as my guests any time.
