Hi guys

Out flying today with my raptor all was well not doing nothing hard , flying circuits and stuff, when I came in after my second tank I noticed that the belt which drives the tail blades (not the one that holds my pants up lol) had came loose, So I adjusted it and made sure every thing was good before I went out again..

Had three more flights and once landed I noticed it had worked loose again, after close inspection at home all was fine just lost belt tension..

Do these belts stretch at all.. I doubt that was the case was most likely movement in the boom I have not had this happen before, is there anything I can do to stop it slipping again??

Evening,

Try putting a wrap of electrical tape around the tail boom before you insert it into the main frames.

I had that problem once the boom would slide into the frame making the belt loose
I removed the boom put CA glue on the part of boom that go's into the frame
let the glue dry then reinstall the boom and tighten the frame, stoped from my belt
getting loose

Also remember on the raptor, when the boom slides, your neutral setting changes on your tail rotor.

I have put it all back and set the tension on the belt, all is ok for now I will see if it does it any more when i fly next time, I dont get this prob with my 600 por...lol.

If I used tape on the tube surly it would push it back as you put it in the main body?? I like the CA glue thought..

Scuff the inside of the frames where the boom goes with 80 grit sand paper, you can also scuff the end of the boom though I've rarely seen them both need scuffing.

Ive never had a problem with the genuine boom but recently in a bid to save $2 i baught a generic/aftermarket boom, big mistake holes and slots never lined up and had to recut them but more importantly the outer diamiter of the boom was to small and loose (could tell because of the up and down play) i had to use electrical tape as mensioned above to shim it tight.
