I am in the process of switching all my rotary wing beasts over to a DX7. Is the Spektrum AR6200 DSM2 receiver OK for the Rap 30? If so, does anybody do a programming tutorial for the Raptor like the excellent job "Finless" does for the T-Rex series? Thanks in advance.

No, the AR6200 is for shorter-range parkflyer size(IE Trex450) and smaller.
Could you use it on the Raptor and would it work? Probably, but who knows what the range would be.
I wouldn't chance it.

the AR6100 is the park flyer. the AR6200 is the full range recever. same range as the AR7000 just one less channel.

I'm sorry for the mis-information, I was thinking of the 6300 for some reason.
I'm glad someone stepped in and corrected me!

As for programming, RaptorTechnique's radio setup instructions has instructions for DX7 programming (button by button) for each step of the way.

I followed his instructions, and it was great, flew right off the board perfectly. The only thing he doesn't cover very much of is the push-pull collective, I spent quite a bit of time fiddling with that to have 0* at mid-throw and full travel in both directions. A lot of people say it isn't worth it and to not use it, but I like the fact that it takes the side loading off the servo bearings.
