Catfight
I have to agree Alan has done a superb job on these models this has been missing for a long time I think Reflex should stick a few ££££'s in his arse pocket for reviving their SIM.
I think Alan needs do do an RNK tutorial on his new website now
I'm not about for the next 4 days Im away on Holiday in Venice, I cant wait to see AJK's final results.
Rusty did you sort your inverted problem ?
Cheers Freaks
Glenn

Glenn,
No, I don't get it - but having fun with this "dead" XTR now that Allan has made something interesting. I'll play with it after trying your canopy smoothing technique. This is fun messing around with the editor. Don't you have XTR on your laptop :0). I agree about the tutorial. Venice - never been there - how is the wine?
I't clicked into place just as i was about to shut down catfight so i converted the file and the flybarless model is ready, just been flying it and it seem a little strange without it! Anyway i will post it tomorrow night as i said earlier and you can modify it if its not to your likeing. Definetly good night this time!!!

Thanks for the smoothing AJK. Could u both with Glenn conform this .par for the model is 99% realistic???, since i dont have it in real worlds (for 600class)?? or maybe u can test my par as 3D setup,...
Thanks again, cheers,....
(pls, rename this to .par file)

theglennster,
So how do you smooth textures? It would be appreciated if you share :0)
Hiya to all, you can now download the updated models from my original post which all now have the black disc removed from the main rotor and a new rotor fitted for the flybar, all the canopies have also been smoothed out for better results.
In addition as requested by catfight i have included a flybarless model and this can be downloaded HERE (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ajkhobbies/600models/T-Rex 600 Red Canopy and Flybarless.zip)
I wanted to post this file in with the original files on the original post but i could figure out how to do it "thats if it can be done".
Anyway i hope you like them and happy flying to you all!!!

Great improvment AJK,...can u guide me how to smooth the poly from inside RMK??,, since in u model the poly self not a surface (using surrounding or not the surface; using F11/F12 key), thanks.
cheers.
yep devindh they definitely look loads better and in answer to your question each and every surface of the canopy has to have a thickness of 0 then you right click on the surface and click insert new surface as back face from the drop down menu and this will automatically insert a new backface and hey presto the smoothing is done. Hope this helps you  (this is the part theglennster sussed out).

Hate to say this,.... there something wrong again in this model.
First, as official dimension and weight in ur par file is correct, but actual scale is "overscale". In comparison with official REFLEX thunder tiger model and kyosho model, like raptor v2 50, in 1.35 m and 3.2 kg, ur t600 is over sized.
I make some scaling in RMK in 70,70,70 (x,y,z %). Since this size give me better correct size and make a par file better, see attachment.
After that, for the second, doing autos with thr-hold, in ground, after the blade spin off, the main rotor seem to stop, but not with the flybar and paddle,....
In RMK, i make some POINT adjustment in flaybar and paddle related POINT in referenced to ROTOR 1, ONLY VISIBLE WHEN STOPED, to ROTOR 0, ONLY VISIBLE IN STOPED, since the flybar and paddle being a part of main rotor = ROTOR 0. After this, in main rotor is spin off and stop, the flybar will spin of and stoped too.
And for last, the flybarless system have more advantages for cyclic response, and ur included par for this is same as the red ones,...
For helping (or not), use my attachment for par file, please del txt extension (just .par), and correct the model name since i got a blue flybarless rather than a red ones.
Cheers.
Hi devindh, i am aware that the models are over scale in size and i desingned them that way cos that suits me and as i stated in my first post if the characteristics don't suit you then please feel free to adjust them to suit yourself and its just a matter of personal preference. If you want better cyclic response just change the pharameters again and save the model par file. I have provided these models free to you all and as stated please feel free to change or tweek the model pharameters, canopy, tail fins, certain parts of the main head but as a whole the main body must remain as i designed it. Just needed to clarify this.

Hiya, OK. Get my self clear,....
regards.
Hiya all just to let you know that i have fixed the problem with the flybar not stopping on all models when an auto is performed as highlighted by devindh (thanks devindh), all model have been reloaded to my original post as before and you can download them now, sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you

Hey I'm back from Venice and fully PIZZA'D out :YeaBaby: Jeez I cant believe how cold it is back home.
Wow AJK has been mighty busy with his modeling thanks for all your work Alan
I'll download em all again and get my XTR fix.:smokin:
devindh As for that handling of the T-Rex 600 compared with the real thing I think this is probably as near as you are going to get. I always find no matter how hard you try to match the handling it is still different some how. The real T-Rex seems faster in the air to me an doesn't auto as well as AJK's models. I don't think for the money you are paying you will ever get a 100% accurate representation but at least it will teach you the instinctive reactions required to fly a high performance 3D helicopter.
Catfight have you sussed the canopy smoothing in RMK ? if you are still struggling gimme a shout and I'll try do step by step how to. Basically as AKJ pointed out the canopy thickness was causing the problem all the faces are 3mm thick these need reducing to 0mm thickness. For some reason instead of increasing the polygon it actually extrudes it. This is OK on a flat surface but on the Canopy it didn't work and gave it the faceted look. The problem with allocating no thickness to the canopy faces causes it to be a one sided poly you need to get RMK to create a rear facing polygon face as well.
Cheers

With credits to AJK@Helifreaks.com, after this model has been published and enjoying very much this trex 600 heli, (also love to use RMK), i try some re-engineering, soory, not to post the model anywhere, but if you give permission, i can give you the model of nitro version.
with credits to other person in rc-sim.de and cmedv.de (need to conform the permission too), i make some F3C/FAI Fuselage for your model skeleton,....
This post meant that i have responsibility to your creation, hard work and time there.
Regards.

Awesome modeling work :noteworthy
I like the gold reflective look of the F3C fusalage VERY NIIICE :YeaBaby:
It looks like AKJ has started a new revolution in Reflex XTR.
 Very nice looking work devindh :smokin:, you have my permision to use my work as long as you are not using it for profit and as i have stated previoustly that you credit me for the original work in your posts. :noteworthy

Glen, thanks. AJK made it all for my inspiration.
Thanks AJK. Still need permission from cmedv.de and original author for fuse that been created for FMS model from KanameRC. Give credit to u all.
Since my net limit over now (very pricey here), i'll post this here in helifreaks.com in the begin of next month. Still works for some smooth, colour, etc.

Hey guys done another re skin job on the T-Rex 600 (AJK/devindh) hybrid here are some screen caps. Note I've not done any modeling just new canopy paint as the T-Rex600 Nitro Pro. I can upload it if you want with AJK's and Devindh's permission of course
BTW I was going to re model the canopy from scratch to the proper Nitro shape but my version of RMK just isnt stable enough :arggg: I cant even set up the basic views without the program crashing. Arrggggggghhhh.
Cheers

Its a big OK, Glenn. You got it. Nice job.
Maybe better to post that in my thread of AJK's modification with him permission too :D.
I will wait of your re-mod of t600n canopy shape,....
About stable RMK, i found that progs not stable enough with XP shell DLL - (shell32.dll) that handle file I/O in XP windows explorer.
I got less crashing (not free of that) since install reflex in root directory in other hardisk (other hardisk from your system), eg: my windows dir in C:\windows, and reflex in D:\reflex, (default in C:\program files\reflex). This way make shell32.dll can improve operation to get info about every folder/directory in there. "program files" have too many files.
Cheers.

He devindh Thanks for the RMK tip Bud  I'll see if I can get a better result on another drive.
You are correct I have used the default "program files"location for my install of reflex. I may just be able to create a setup just for RMK itself. I have always wanted to create new models but my RMK is way to unstable. I work in 3D for my job so modeling is not a problem. I will give this a try. Many thanks.
Cheers
Glenn
Hiya Glen, absolutely fab work my freind:smokin:, can't wait til it's posted, it looks the beez kneez. I wasn't around lastweek cos im having to work in bonney Scotland which is wet and cold and i go back up there in the morning for another week. Ive got my lap top with reflex on it so im not so lonely in the hotel room though. My RMK is pretty stable allthough it did crash on a couple of occasions while building the models but i just backed up everything i did just in case.

I'll post it later Promise.
