Hiya to all, I've now got my head around the workings and creation of my own website and I've stored my Reflex trex 600 models within it for you to download and test out on your PC's at your own leisure. I've been flying these models now for the last three months both on my tower system and on my laptop and the models fly very well although on the laptop there is about 8 seconds recovery time after crashing. There are four in total and all are based on my own trex 600 electric version only, each of them has been set up with differing flight characteristics from the sedate to sensitive but if they don't suit your own personal preferences please feel free to modify their characteristics to suit you. A great deal of time and thought went into the creation of these models and the only request i have is that you please credit me with the original work and construction.

So firstly the T-Rex 600 With Red Canopy can be downloaded HERE (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ajkhobbies/600models/T-Rex 600 With Red Canopy.zip)

The T-Rex 600 With White Canopy can be downloaded HERE (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ajkhobbies/600models/T-Rex 600 With White Canopy.zip)

Next is the T-Rex 600 With Blue Canopy and can be downloaded HERE (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ajkhobbies/600models/T-Rex 600 With Blue Canopy.zip)

And lastly is the T-Rex 600 With torque tube and designed skidd set and no canopy which can be downloaded HERE (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ajkhobbies/600models/T-Rex 600 With torque tube and designed skidd set.zip)

There are instructions within each model file on where to store them within Reflex once unzipped. Please feel free to feed back your thoughts on the models and i hope your happy with them all.
The only thing i have left to say is "happy flying".

AJK nice work. I tested them out last night and today. My favorites were the White and the Evo 600. I did experience one problem common to all of them. When I fly inverted, full pitch, power cuts just like hitting throttle hold. If I was gentle on the pitch, the blades would keep spinning as normal.

Hi chaps, i will be doin some rework on the models soon as the main rotor has a black disc on them which shouldn't be there as picked up by theglennster (cheers buddy) i must be going blind.
"oh well nobody's perfect i suppose".

Hi, thanks for this model. I try to make some re-paint from canomod, airbrush canopy. I think u need to smooth the poly too, thanks,...

Hi devindh, that looks pretty neat, wish i could smooth out the canopy but i would have to sacrifice some of the model under the canopy ie, battery, body and electrics and i don't want to do that. how did you change the canopy, ide love to do my own signature cover.

Just use photoshop from canomod.c*m, just replace tex5.bmp, ...... just did that for old 450 model that i used. Nevermind, do ur best,....

AJK,

I ran into the same issues as aaron with the throttle when inverted. So how do we redo the textures on the models - or are you doing it with a new release:lol:

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Catfight, I'm sorting out the smoothing as we speak thanks to the help of theglenster and I'm removing the black disk on the main rotor and installing a new rotor for the flybar paddles, I've done the blue canopy tonight and the others will be done soon so just hang on in there mate cos there coming soon. I need to look into the inverted power problem, possibilly just a characteristic fix on that one.

Inverted power problem ?? not me

This is weird I've not got this inverted power problem ?? Are you guys making sure you are flicking to idle up ? ie 100% flat throttle or it will hit the deck. Make sure your throttle curve is set for 3D otherwise you will not be able to fly inverted.

As for creating new textures on your model its quite easy to do I'll try talk you through it.

1. Start the RMK editor and use the import .MOD object file you will find this file in the place you saved AJK's model
2. Now you will see Alans superb creation in front of you now on the model data panel pick the surface tab and then pick any panel on the canopy.
3. Now go to the EDIT pull down and select Open texture TEX5.BMP for modification
4. This will open the canopy texture in a image editing package. I associate BMP files with Photoshop but I should imagine Paint will be the default.
5. Now paint your new colours over the existing canopy images but nowhere else or paste a photo over the top but ensure it is placed in exactly the same position on Alans images and thats both sides remember.
6. When you are happy save the image dont worry about the location the file is embeded.
7. Hey presto your newly painted T-Rex600
8. Save the MOD file and your done, call it a different name if you still want to keep the original and make several versions and have a fleet.:YeaBaby:

I hope this helps. I'm not an expert in RMK I dont even use it to model AJK is the man:noteworthy

Thanks Glenn,

Will have to try tonight. Can you mod the surfaces also (I have never used the RMK editor before)- I would like to show flybarless (for what it is worth :0))

Almost forgot when editing the image don't forget to do the top view on the canopy as well you can paint plain colours onto it for a better match as photographs tend to have reflections that when placed on a model look a bit odd.

As for flybarless ? I assume its just a simple matter of deleting the flybar geometry but note this is not an image I'm talking about the 3D points and surfaces but be careful not to move anything or you will screw up the geometry. Ive not tried this but I cant se any reason why this will not work.

Cheers

I'm not taking any credit for this Rusty its all AJK's work this must have taken him a few weeks to model this up.

Anyway some proof on the inverted thing heres my fully smoothed canopy flying inverted :YeaBaby:. I've not 100% finished my canopy yet and it need a few tweaks but inverted is NOOOO problem here's the proof.

HOW LOW CAN YOU GO ??

Hi chaps, I've now smoothed out all the canopies on all models and removed the disc in the main rotor then created a new rotor for the flybar and they look a load better. I will post em tomorrow night on my website and remove the origional files. I will let you know when this is done so you can download them again, sorry if you have allready downloaded the models and have to go through the process again but you know what they say "you can't make an omelette with out first breaking some eggs"!!!!!
From the previous post where a flybarless model is required just open RMK model construction then click file and import.mod object the click one directory symbol up then click on Heli and then the file you want then open. From here you can delete what ever you want so first remove the flybar surfaces by clicking on them to highlight then right click and select delete. Then remove the points and then remove the flybar cylinder, be carefull not to delete any other points or surfaces cos if you do and you try to load it back in it will just display in a blank white surface. If i get some time i will do a model with out the flybar but I'm not promising anything.

Oh i forgot, Glen thanks for the earlier post on changing the canopy cover texture design, i was a bit baffled at how it was done im gonna give that a try at some point "top bloke"!!!!
Also the smoothing went great thanks to you.

AJK,

Edit:

Nevermind - blind - it is the scroll wheel :0)

I am in the editor and removing points, etc. I do not read German so is there any way to "zoom" in on parts of the heli (other than rotate)? I notice several areas of the drop down menus are greyed out - like Shift Z - does that indicate something? Thanks for the education :0)

AJK

hiya catfight, yeah you can zoom in on the model with the page up and page down buttons respectivly. I've just done a flybarless model for you mate with the red canopy on the reworked model, the only thing is i can't bleeding remember how to convet the alph channel screen shot of the heli into a bmp file, tirednesss has set in now and ile finish it of tomorrow.

Thank you sir! Get some rest (it's only about 1 AM right :0)). I have done a flybarless on the white canopy version - but trailing edge control - have to figure out how to reverse blade grip parts :0) Looking at these models in this detail is truly amazing - you do great work! Thanks again.
