You want to do what? The DX7 is a transmitter and doesn't work with other transmitters. If you are asking how to set up the CX2 so that you can fly it with the DX7, I can help you there. Are you asking whether or not you can have two Tx controlling the same CX2? If that's the case, then no. I'm not even sure whether or not you can hook up a "buddy box" system with the CX2.
Why not just let him fly the CX2 by himself? Your TREX I can understand why not, but the CX2 is a fun way to get into the hobby.

Fairly easy to program the DX7 to control the CX2. Several ways to do it also, one in airplane mode, the other in heli mode.
Heli mode I have programmed in my DX7 now, so I will tell you what my settings are:
Initial setup
type select : Heli
swash type: 1 servo
Main setup for model:
Reversing SW 2,3,4 are reversed the rest are normal.
0,50,100 for both throttle and pitch curves ( Pitch makes no difference, since heli is fixed pitch blades the pitch curve could be anything and it will work)
all travel adjust at 100%
throttle hold enabled and at -5% on D/R hold switch(upper right)
All other settings ( Subtrim ) will be according to your setup, everything else is default setings.
Once the programming is in, put a bind plug into the CX2 receiver and plug in battery to the heli, make sure transmitter(DX7) is turned off. While pushing button on backside of DX7 turn the DX7 on continuing to hold button. wait for all receiver light to go solid, it is now bound to DX7, remove bind plug and go fly.
hope that helps

I think he may be asking how to set the DX7 up as a trainer or buddy box. So his son can fly the CX2 with the stock radio and dad can take over with the DX7 if the boy gets in trouble.
As far as I know, you can not do this. But I think that may be what he was asking??

And for that matter let me be the first to ask, how to set up the DX6i with the CP Pro?
