Hi All,

Wow. I can’t believe how good this Phoenix simulator is!!! I’ve been letting my G3.5 collect dust all summer because it doesn’t fly realistic and screws me up for flying the real thing. But I just purchased the Phoenix and I’ve got to say that it’s incredible.

I fly a TRex 600N on the weekend, and I was happy to see that the 1.04 upgrade has the TRex 600N 3D and Sport (not that they fly any different). I can’t believe how realistic it feels. I’ve turned the wind up to 12 mph with 50% gusts and set turbulence at 50%. That really makes it realistic.

I had been complaining that G3.5 didn’t feel realistic and that’s why I didn’t use it during the summer when flying the real thing. However, with Phoenix, I did a funnel on the sim and it felt pretty easy. When flying the real thing on Sunday, I tried it with my 600N and it felt exactly like it did on the sim. I could have been learning new maneuvers all summer long if I had had Phoenix.

I really missed out not purchasing Phoenix sooner. But I’m looking forward to a winter adding new tricks for next year.

Keep ‘em flying.

Welcome to the family. I find some thing on pheonix harder to do than RL like piro flips, but others like 4 point tic tocs are the opposite.

Yep! I also find adding some random wind and gusts makes it a lot more realistic!

Man I keep hearing about this thing. I've had realflight 3/3.5 now for a while, and it's ok...but now 4.0 is out and I can't help but be annoyed by the lack of a decent 400 size heli and lack of really useful upgrade features...I really don't care about water...

I'd much rather have a sim that was closer to real life and had helis that are more common in the market place like Align, EFlight, Raptor etc... I may have to look into this...

I contacted Phoenix about why their sim was not currently available in the US - they indicated that the US providers (I won't mention names) are releasing RF 4 and are therefore not actively offering Phoenix sim because of that.....How is that for business life?

Umm, its available in the US as far as I can tell. Go to Grandrc.com, they had some in stock as of a few days ago. But you are right, the US stocks definitely are dwindling.

Yeah I noticed tower hobbies states now that it is no longer available and no info on when...heh...ah well. maybe i should be happy with 3.5...but still.... i guess the real Q is when does Phoenix 2 come out?

As much as I love Phoenix I wish they would post some more background scenes. I dropped them an email and it looks like they should have something, but it's been awhile....

Why are you watching the background !?!??! I would much rather them add a new 90 like the Aurora they promised.

I love Pheonix...just wish there were better training functions with regards to all the different tricks. You know, rather than just the demo's.

a) Just order from the UK. Most people found it was faster to order from the UK that from Tower anyway.

b) They just released two more backgrounds

c) They just released the 1.05 beta also, with better water effects.

d) They are a small group and they are working on updating the product so that we can build models and backgrounds, and share them.

Hey guys, I have been searching for the best Helli sim and I believe
I have found it.
I am ordering Pheonix today!
"Allright,,you've convinced me Rabbit" [said the Cop to Buggs Bunny].
I bought FSone as my first sim and there is no tutorial for Hellis at all.
The guy at my LHS,[ who sold me my first Helli], never even mentioned Pheonix
and said Realflite was more like a vidieo game.
I am looking forward to working with a sim that will help me learn. Don't get me wrong FSone is pretty cool, and I have been practicing. But as a learning tool,
for Helli's it seems lacking.
Anyway, I just want to say thanks and I'll let you know how long it takes to arrive
here in Toronto, Canada. I am going to order it from the main site

Will we need a HF dedicated Phoenix server :)

Since the LHS doesn't sell Phoenix, they won't typically tell you about it.

Some LHS's do carry Phoenix Sim (there are at least two of them around here).

One thing I have started to notice is that my Trex 450 in Reflex doesn't bog under full collective. I think the power level is realistic but it doesn't react to changing collective by slowing rpm or loosing power. I haven't tried to change anything yet.

Any of you guys that fly Phoenix, does Phoenix react the same way?

Also, how does Pheonix compare?

I believe that Phoenix does bog down the motor under high collective conditions. I can definitely hear a difference in the rotor buzz.

Then they would probably tell a customer about them. But most LHS don't carry it, and therefore will not tell customers about it.

Try doing quick tic tocs on the MT , that will bog the head if you do them poorly.
