AR6100 is newer and uses DSM2. AR6000 is the original DSM version.
AR6200 is better for some uses due to the secondary receiver.

The 6100 is a park flyer Rx, but I have no idea what the max range is.

I know there are lots of variables, but I flew my trex450 with the AR6100 straight up to the point I lost visual of the tail boom. Never had a dropped signal.
I guess the RX depends on the aircraft.

I found an article at http://spektrumrc.net, that goes into great detail about the AR6000 receiver. It has two radio receivers, one for each of the two channels, that have a rated 1500 foot receive capability. Don't know if the same parts are used on the 6100 or 6200, but the design philosophy would appear to be the same - one receiver chicp for each of the two channels in a single receiver unit. Which means that the antennae are not dipoles or space diversity antenna, but just simple monopoles for each reciever.

If you want to see the xray pictures and guts of the receiver, go to http://spektrumdx6.com/default.aspx. Same article, but with pictures.
