Am I correct in assuming that this is a cash only event or do vendors take plastic? When I get there on Saturday , I don't want to have to leave to get money....

Dam weather! Got delayed and stuck in-between flights at the airport and now I need to wait 8hrs.:arggg:
Anyone see Bob Friday morning, tell him I'll be late and won't come in until about 6:00PM Friday night.

At lease I have an internet connection here and not board to death.

Well there is about 60 pilots at the field on Thursday evening. 30 of them have already registered. It is going to be a great event.
As for the Vendors, I would think they would be cash only or check. As they have no way of running a credit or debit card at the field.

Billigan is here and has the event T shirts ready for sale. They really look great. Bill has done excellent work on them again and made a nice shirt .
We should get probably 100 more pilots by Friday sunset.

I will be leaving Atlanta and traveling to Birmingham Friday afternoon. Will their be much going on Friday night? Will their be any pilots doing some night flying? The weather looks to be pretty good tonight. This is my first event and I am really excited about the flying and fellowship. See y'all soon!!!!!!!!!!

According to radar, looks to be a pretty strong system coming up on the field in next half hour or so. But hopefully it should pass quickly. After that system, maybe it'll be just overcast the rest of the day...

At the field, right now... weather is raining... has been on and off for the last hours, but peeps have been out flying whenever the weather breaks.

BTW, I know of at least one vendor that can process CC#s on site, gotta love internet cards.

Oh yea... as I sit here in my camper I am pulling in a 3G internet connection with my ATT card and I am getting awesome performance.... 1.5mbps download... T1 baby!!

How cool would it be if we could have a WiFi hotspot at the field! I'm bringing my laptop, but only for ESC programming.

We're leaving from Gulf Shores in about an hour.

Well todays report. It rained off and on from about 7AM till noon. Really never rained for more than 30 mins a couple of times. Then about 1PM the skies cleared and temps were in the high 60's. Every one was shedding there jackets and putting on shorts and t shirts.
There is 125 registered pilots as of 5PM on Friday. We normally will have another 50-60 pilots register on Saturday. We have a pilot from Bulgaria, and Colin Bell is here from Nova Scotia, along with plenty of other pilots that are letting there flying show they have been waiting to have some fun.
Helifreak gang is here in full force. We have Finless, ClayK, Debian Dog, Wayne Brown, Will James in the house. Dog smoked some great pork today and fed several people, Rodney has his normal pot of wings frying and topping them with his killer wing sauce.

Here is the forecast for Saturday. Is nearly the same forecast as Friday. But Friday turned out to be a great day.
Might be a little breezy tomorrow.
Saturday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 41. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to between 5 and 10 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 67. North wind between 5 and 10 mph.
