It was cool last year, I would not say it was cold. Over the last 15 years we have had all types of weather. Even over the 3 days it can change drastically. 3 years ago it was 25 on Friday morning. Then Saturday it was mid 60's and Sunday in the low 70's. It is just Alabama in the Spring, if you don't like the weather, just wait around a few minutes and some will get here you do like. LOL
The event is great really no matter what the weather is doing. All the people that have attended it over the years make it a great event.
Getting good response from the manufactuers and dealers. So we should have some nice stuff to give away in the pilots raffle.

I can't wait. Are ya'll bringing some folks from the Wren, Okolona, Amory, Tupelo area?
Yep, Myself, Wesley my wife and youngest son will be there. Big-Al from Saltillo will be a vendor. My brother David, Dan from NE MS and perhaps 2 more guys from our field. I'll be pulling our camper and will be at the field the whole weekend.

It was so cold last year we had to set up our booth behind a tarp. The wind was a killer, but it is a great event. We are planning to return and if necessary hope our location in the shed behind the tarp is still available. As usual there will be some great deals. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Anyone wanting to preorder can call us as quantities will be limited.

Do you want to bring your RV to B'ham, but you don't because you don't have a generator? Well do I have a deal for you! I am selling my ultra quiet Honda 4500 for about half the price of a Honda 3000. It will power everything on your RV and then some. Electric start. I Will bring it with me to B'ham. I'm asking $1000, but for Helifreaks, $950.
If you're interested, drop me a PM.

Hi all. Can't wait. The ditch needs a good feeding.
DavidH, I'll try to make myself available to help with setup. Call me if you need anything.
Last year there were folks there on the Monday prior, lol.
If anyone needs anything, I'm in Birmingham, just PM me.

OK just 4 weeks away. Been receiving some nice items from the manufactuers and distributors to give away to registered pilots.
Went out to CC this past weekend to Ron's event. A good number of the pilots at that event said they would be in Bham. So looks like we will have another great year and event.
Hope to see all of you here March 14th-16th. Some will arrive on Tues/Wed and stay till Sunday. There should be 3 or 4 vendors at the event. So if you need to buy anything, you can most likely get it at the event.
Thanks
David

I just passed the field, as it rained about 12 hours ago, it's nice and soggy waiting for heli victims. :)

Ok 3 weeks away. Lots of great response from vendors and pilots. We have been having 155-160 registered pilots every year for the last few years. Looks like we may hit the 200 mark this year. In the past this has been the largest attended heli event in the USA other than the Jamboree. Manufactuers and vendors are donating some nice merchandise for the pilot door prizes. You have to be a registered pilot to be elgible for the door prizes. Hope to see you here. There is always some early arrivals that will be at the field starting on Tuesday or Wednesday. There is no hook ups at the field, so you will need your own power and water supply. Couple of the manufactuers have told me they will have a surprise for the pilots attending. So you will not want to miss it.
See you soon.
David
I just reserved my room. Birthday (15th) at B'Ham! :happyd

Man, I'm so excited about this event. I've never been to anything like this and my family thinks I'm crazy for cutting our spring break short to pass through Birmingham on the way home. My sister lives about 10 miles from the field in Alabaster and that's where we're staying.
But, I watched the "teaser video" and I'm kinda overwhelmed by the talent there. Is there an area for non-hotshot pilots? I can do loops and flips and FFF, but nothing like the guys in the video. I'm wondering if I should even register as a pilot.
Also, any chance there are going to be any vendors that carry GAUI Hurricane 550 parts there? I'm planning to be there Friday night through Sunday and I might need parts support if I crash.

There's plenty of room for "non hotshot" pilots. I am by no stretch of the imagination a "Hot Shot" and probably never will be. Just register and get out and have fun. The only one you have to impress with your abilities is yourself.
It's always a great event. I can't wait to get there.

All I can say is big events are awesome to go to. Just watching the Top pilots fly is inspiring in itself. Just have to remind yourself to stay with in your limits.
Can't wait my first big event since returning to the hobby after 9yrs.

Just have to remind yourself to stay with in your limits.
Don't worry, I may be a little too cautious for my own good.
I'll definitelyregister then,,,,,,,,,
Thanks,
Leo

This event is about cameradie and having fun. Most of the pilots that attend this event are coming from the north and snow is still on the ground. They just want to get out and see some old friends and do some flying. Anyone that has been to this event in the past will tell you. This is an opportunity to get some help and advice from some of the top pilots.
If you are a raw rookie or veteran. Bring your heli and equipment and have some fun. There will be several vendors here, so also bring a few extra dollars as you might find something you just have to have. This group is like a large family, we have fun together, sometimes we have disagreements. But still at the end of the day we all enjoy our time together.
