Just finshed charging this battery and dropped it (it slipped out of my hand and fell two inchs onto a desk).

Obviously this was enough to split the skin on one of the cells as a cloud of gas with blown out in my face, i realised what was happening and on instinct decided that it needed to be out the house no matter what, so I grabbed it, ran out the house and threw it in the garden.

Here's a couple of photos for you just to see what happens, btw it hurts quite a bit, it happened 20mins ago, and i'm sat here in a cloud of smoke typing this.

It was one of the Align 11.1v 22C 2100mAh batterys, the same as the ones that come with the 450SE v2.

Good thing you were able to get it outside in time! ...Now will you be able to still hold your TX with that bad burn and still fly . OUCH.

That's why I repack all my li-po with thicker gauge heat shrink before I use them in case this happens or a crash happens. I get my heat shrink from FMA direct. I'm surprised that some Li-Po brands sell the batteries with just fiber tape wrapped around it. I also add padding to the ends of a pack using sticky foam sheets I get from craft stores.
