Well it was -8 today in those pics, that I bet you are not jealous of lol, a tad cold for flying it was, at least I am not used to it yet anyhow. You'll have yours soon enough, then you'll be rockin out. I am hoping to have #2 by new year if all goes well. :smokin:

It's a shame the V-Bar only gives you two banks of settings - I'd like three, so I could run
1) rate mode on cyclic and tail gyros (forward flight)
2) rate mode on cyclic gyros, HH on tail (hovering, backward flight etc)
3) HH on all gyros (aerial photography)

How about more banks of settings, Mikado?

Actually, you get 4 banks.

OK I just got back from the field and saw a buddy of mines 500 3d V-bar in person and all I got to say is DAMN! That is one Beautiful looking heli! Canopy looks much better in person. I'm very impressed with the quality and fit/finish of parts. This wasnt ready to fly yet, he was still waiting on the V-bar electronics but was built and had everything else installed, hacker a40, jazz esc and futaba servos. Very nice set-up

I dont know which radio you have but on my futaba 7c I have set up 3 banks on my idle up switch by setting the gyro rate in the radio at 25% 50% and 75% the fourth bank is activated by a different switch which i have set up with pmix adding 100% master channel5 slave channel 5. once idle up switch is full on giving bank 2 (0-3) i cxan switch a switch to choose bank 3 (fourth bank)

Yes, I realised there are four banks after I read the manual more carefully.

I have the same radio. Can you help me / explain how to assign another switch to activate the forth bank (bank 3)?

Thanks

I am at work at the mo so bear with me if i am incorrect i will post again tonight (uk time)

got to the p-mix menu and activate mix from "inh" to "on" or "off" then choose which switch to use for your 4th bank dont pick a switch used for anything else!.

I presume you have used the gyro gain channel 5 to switch the banks 0-2 in which case on the radio change the master to chan 5 and the slave to chan 5 and then play about with teh rate amount to get the bar in the stabi softwre to switch to bank 3 (4th)

hope this helps

Take a look a the Assigning bank switching to radio video here (http://www.helifreak.com/showpost.php?p=703335&postcount=2). It goes through it in a lot of detail.

John

EDIT: and I later realized that's for a different radio. sorry...

we have gone beyond the video John and we are assigning another switch to switch the 4th bank (we already have the first three banks assigned) The video hints at doing this but doesnt actually show you how to do it.

Well, as long as you include "the Mikado factor" in your calculations, and don't manage to damage the V-Bar electronics, sure!

You can't really make it so there's different V-Bar settings by flight mode, but you can by any other channel. For example, I have my Aux2 set to change between the two setups, since my Aux2 is a two-position switch. Now, other radios may allow some method of doing what you're getting at, but not the DX7.

Oh, and the Logo 500 R0XX0Rs, as does the V-Bar.

John

You can Use gyro settingsmeny for switching bank with flightmode stick, wery ezy on the DX7
set gyro to 0 and othe to 100 chosse witch mode to use, that will switch between bank zero and three..
you can use gear channel.. ezy.. if you dont have th hold that is..

Well, I've learned a lot since that post nearly a year ago. I first re-read it here, and was wondering who wrote that... :arggg::Slap
