Hey guys, I'm looking to add a 500 3D V-bar to my fleet soon and have question. Would it be safe to say the V-bar set-up cost less to repair on a typical "crash" because of the fewer mechanical parts? I plan on buying this heli either way I'm just trying to convince myself to spend the extra cash! :YeaBaby:
Also, can you program different V-bar setting on your normal, idle1 and idle2 settings?
Thanks for the help!

Well, as long as you include "the Mikado factor" in your calculations, and don't manage to damage the V-Bar electronics, sure!

You can't really make it so there's different V-Bar settings by flight mode, but you can by any other channel. For example, I have my Aux2 set to change between the two setups, since my Aux2 is a two-position switch. Now, other radios may allow some method of doing what you're getting at, but not the DX7.

Oh, and the Logo 500 R0XX0Rs, as does the V-Bar.

You can assign a aux switch to run different "banks" that way you can have multiple parameters to give you what you want for flying style. You could assign it to an idle up switch as well if your tx permits this. As for less cost well that all depends but I can tell you after recently flying my first Logo on Vbar, all mine will be Vbar no doubt about it, it is worth every penny and I do not even have mine dialed in yet. :YeaBaby:

John is doing some legwork getting that 5003D file all dialed in for me at the moment :)... j/k man hehehehe

crashing is cheap with the V-Bar. Never broken a blade grip, spindle, alu center block.....and thats it really. Main shaft goes, and every so often replace the dampners and bearings, and thats it!!

Thanks guys thats what I wanted to hear!
BTW I do have a DX7, I guess I should have stated that in my first post!
I should have this bird by Christmas!

Crashing with the V Bar setup isn't always cheap, I got away with minimal damage on the first crash but the second sheared one of the balls on the inner swash flush with the surface and bent one of the others which also sheared when trying to remove it! Because the links on the blade grips go straight to the swash with no intervening mixing levers all the shoch is transmitted to the swash so always look for bent balls after a crash :) The crash in question was heavy enough to bend the HT main shaft as well plus ripping off the skids so it was a little heavier than most of my crashes.

I know someone that just built a 500 3D V-bar and he lives about 10 mins from me so I think I'm gonna go check it out this weekend. Its not flight ready yet but it is built, hes just waiting on the V-bar electronics. I hope this thing looks as good in person as it does on screen! i have to admit though, I think Mikado could have done a little better on the canopy. Dont get me wrong, I think the Logo looks great, but I would like to see a canopy like a Synergy or Aurora or even the Vibe 50.
The Logo is such a Bada$$ heli and the canopy is just kinda "soft" lookin. Maybe the right paint job would justice. Anybody have any good pics?

No pics (mine is the plain stock canopy with just the stickers), but I hear ya on the canopy. My T-Rex 600 "looks" faster than the Logo, but clearly, the Logo is the rocket. I keep hoping some after-market ones will appear. I've even heard of one person putting a T-Rex canopy on their Logo, but I haven't tried it myself.

Yeah, I keep thinking with some low profile skids and a trick paint scheme the Logo will be a Sweet lookin Heli! I think it definitly deserves a more aggresive look. I'm hoping to order my kit soon, but it will be a X-mas present so I wont be able to open it yet! Bummer eh?

Looking at my DX7 manual, in the INPUT SELECT screen you can set AUX2 to F.MODE:
In this mode, the AUX2 channel is controlled by the flight mode switch and three positions are available. Sub trim and travel adjust is used to set the center and end points for each switch position..
You can also use the gyro gain on either GEAR or AUX2, which gives you two settings to choose from.

I will throw Virtual Eggs at your A$$ if you put a 600 Rex canopy on a Logo, that is a severe sin! :lolol

Got the message :P - though please don't hold back next time :nanabobo

Anyway what all these posts don't convey is the FUN flying these helis - make the TREXs seem like SUVs by comparison :YeaBaby: and haven't seen anything half as good looking !

I havent even got my Logo yet and I know better than to put a Trex canopy on it! I think that would a "dumbdown" effect! :...:

Gee...... Rex 600, heavy, underpowered, and not the highest quality parts. Although it does look cool.

Logo, light, overpowered, parts quality is up there with MA and IMO looks a lot better than the Rex.

I'm not really trying to bash the Rex. If you put a 10s setup in it its one fine heli. But its still no Logo.

Just my 2 cents.

Anyway what all these posts don't convey is the FUN flying these helisYeah, I agree 100%. I was blown away by the fit and finish of certain parts during the build. The new frame design, is a vast improvement over the previous L10's and even the 14. Once all put together this bird felt light in the air (must be that flimsy canopy (-; ) and I'm spinning 550's on my 600 right now.
This thing is solid, even with an excessively high headspeed there were no vibes or funny nosies (except for me).

If you are finicky about build quality, parts cost is not a major factor, then this bird is a winner so far. If your putting it in every weekend then be ready to spend more $$$ compared to other birds.

I think that's the key - The T600 at 2200 feels nervous and at 2300 it feels like it's gonna burst - the L600 by comparison just takes the power quietly and efficiently and lets you lay it down :smokin:
