Being a newbie and only having 1 helicopter stinks!!!
Well I suppose if I had not have broken it... it would be O.K.
Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL... SUNNY DAY... no wind...
I looked at my bird just sitting there (broken tail gears)
So sad :(
Waiting on the parts is no fun either....

If you can afford to do it. stock up on some parts and keep what you think you might need in the event of another crash.. that way theres no waiting, on parts.
Crash kit
output shafts, tail gears, rotor head parts, links.
Some who flys a raptor could better assist with the list of items.

Yep I had a crash kit sitting here and was kind of surprized when I opened it to find no gears in the box what-so-ever.
Especially when everyone tells me how easily they can break. :?

Maybe you should consider a micro electric heli for those rainy days when your main bird is down. They are great for a quick fly around, good buzz. :)

Man I know the feeling. I crashed at BHAM around 2 something in the afternoon on Saturday after maybe 30 minutes of flying (my first time).I had 2 crashkits with me and I didn't break anything in there. Luckily Larry and Chris from Bergen were and had the parts I needed. I spent Saturday night rebuilding the heli at the hotel and was back up and in the air Sunday. I don't plan on buying a bunch of spare parts. I'm just going to get another kit. This way when I crash I can just put that heli to the side and continue flying. Just get a second heli man, your hooked! :lolol :happyd

Yes, I am looking for a second heli but I am so torn. SO MANY CHOICES:
1. Another Raptor 60 would be good. You have the right parts and know the bird. (I have (2) T-Maxx trucks and swapping parts back and forth, when needed, is nice)
2. An AP (aerial photography) bird would be nice... an electric Joker would be perfect. More money but money well spent. http://www.joker-usa.com/joker2.htm
3. Bergen Intrepid - Sweet 2 stoke with 3-D ability
4. Bergen Observer - Sweet 2 stroke with camera/video platform built in!
5. I have also been very impressed with both the Hornet II and the T-Rex electrics
Or do I wait and go ALL THE WAY the Burgen Observer Turbine??? :noteworthy

I am a newbie starting with a Bergen Intrepid EB. And that's what I plan on getting as a second heli. Hey this way if I crash both of them at a fun fly then hopefully I can get what I need off the other. :banana
