I don't think getting a 10 min "sport" flight out of your rex 500 will be hard by just lowering the headspeed. 2200 - 2400 rpm should be PLENTY with 425mm blades for cruising and maybe even a little mild 3d (loops / rolls, etc.). Hell, i do that on my 450... I get 9 minutes on my 450 with the reduced th-curve of idle1 (80, 72, 65, 72, 80) with 430XL, 13T pinion ... (3100+rpm in idle2).

Now that the 500 is making into the hands of more pilots, 4.5 minute flight times (80% used) for 6S1P 2200 setups seems to be the experience. Not a lot of data on specific configurations (pinion used, headspeed), but the videos are showing a pattern.

So, 7 minute flight times on two 3S Trex packs (2200mAH) may be hard to attain. Perhaps for sport fliers with much lower headspeed?

Just as an FYI, if you're only looking for arobaitcs (rools/loops/FFF), I figure I'd mention that I got 8 minutes out of my 6SA123 pack using the 13 pinon. Head speed was 2050rpms (on cold packs - didn't measure rpm when I pre-warmed the packs).

I put back 2095 mAh in the pack and it registered 18.4 V when I plugged it to the charger (3.07V per cell).

Can't wait to get that 15 pinion!

Aerosports, that MD500E looks HUGE next to the T500! Is it just the camera angle that makes it look that way?

No, it not camera angle, it is huge. You can almost fit the T500 in the MD500E if you extend the boom.

Well now that's just totally unfair............. I can't get either one of them. Guess I will just wait for my tax return. They should fill the pipe line by then. Meanwhile I can practice crashing the 450. Nice looking fuse too.
