I have a chance at both of these for the same price used locally. Which would be better?

10X is heli ONLY. Or airplane only if airplane version.
9303 works well for heli, airplane and glider.

go for the 9303, I've had every version of the 10, and found them all lacking versatility.

I am looking forward to seeing the new 12X when it comes out.

9303 seems more user freindly hence why they used that model when they released a highend 2.4ghz tx

Well, they are releasing a new higher end 12X 2.4GHz later this year.
So it looks like what they did was 6 ch, then 7ch, then 9 ch, then top of the line.

JR only realesed a 9 channel high end radio (the 9303 is high end I assume)
spectrum (JR line of 2.4 stuff) realesed affordable lower end radios DX6 DX7 I dont see spectrum coming out with a high end peice of equipment when they can put the name JR on the flag ship radio

The DX7 is the same radio as the 7202 with 2.4GHz. Even though it says Spektrum, it is JR. And the DX6 is a JR 662 with 2.4GHz, again, the actual mechanics and programming are JR. Like Chevy, Olds, and Pontiac (and Buick was) mostly the same car, jsut slight cosmetic differnences and badging changes.
And the JR 12X has been announced and shown to the public. Supposed to be out this winter.

buzzbob,
I would also go for the 9303 over the 10X for the versatility. Even if you fly helis only, it is still nice have the capability of other programming. Plus, I believe you miss out on the trainer function on the 10X as well.
I've been using an XP9303 for 4 years now and only got rid of it to get a 2.4 X9303...that's how much I love that radio!

Yes true but the company is not going to release its next highend radio under the name "specktrum" anything new with 2.4ghz might go under spectrum but their flagship radios will always be under the badge JR

To me, the name badge doesn't mean anything. It is the underlying box, mechanics, firmware and electronics.
Whether it says Spektrum or JR is immaterial. It is still a JR basic box, with a Sektrum transmitter section. Which is why the DX6 -> 6102 swaps are so easy. :)

because its the same electronics. But you wont see the Spectrum a 12channel highend radio

I setup a switch on my 10X / Trex450 in that I could switch disconnect the motor when checking all the different flight modes. Normally I'd just unplug a couple of leads on the motor to do that. What a pain. So with the switch method I just flip a switch and do my setup. Nice.
Couldn't do it on a 9303. And I tried hard to do it. It just didn't have any switches available for this function. Before I put my foot in my mouth on this let me state that the radio is a 9xii. As far as I know the menus are the same regarding switch assignments.
So the flexibility argument isn't quite accurate. Granted the 9303 will do planks and gliders, but so does my 10X Heli sans the glider stuff.
I made a plank template and store it in Model 10. It'll do giant scale planks and has 4 mixers left over.
Just wanted to chime in on topic.

You mean you could not set up a thottle hold switch or are you talking something else?

Yes something different. With throttle HOLD all you can do is check your pitch settings in that mode. With the switch method I can check ALL flight modes pitch settings without having to disconnect two power leads to the motor.

I donīt get it ? .... You can watch your pitch in menu on graphs and so on... and still have throttle hold ON, so where is problem ?

You're right, but I'm talking about putting a pitch gauge on the blades and checking the individual pitch settings in each mode.

Oh, I see .-). In this case you are right, itīs usefull, but even that, I am satisfied with my 9303 - for this I use Rx batter pack 4,8 V ... Itīs right, that isnīt so comfortable, but I got used to it :).
