Hi guys.. Im kinda new here on Helifreak.. I have been over on RCG for about 3 years now.. I have watch amost all of the Helifreak Finless Bob build videos and they have helped me alot.. Thanks Bob..... So anyways, long story but yah.. im 15 and i have been flying helicopters for about 2 years now off and on for the first Year.. Then i got into extreme flight... ;) i love it.. So anyways a few weeks ago my Swift Caught on Fire and it was the motor that shorted up against the bearing causing the Esc to Catch on fire... Heres what it damaged...

Main Frames
Canopy
Outrunner 600 + motor
Gaui 55 Amp Esc
Futaba Gy 401
3 Futaba 3151 digital servos
Main Gear

and a few other odds and ends..

So people on Rcg have been helping me out because Century was not going to replace evrything.. All they reaplaced was the motor and min gear... I just got these items in the mail today.. Laugingstill on Rcg sent me new frames.. Eeeeky Sent me a few odds and ends... Now all i need is an esc.. Im really broke so its really hard to get back up and flying.... So if anyone has an align 75 amp esc or a Century 80/100 Esc.. and want to help me out please send me a PM... While the helicopter was down i decided i was going to modify the head so i could do flybarless...This is a little side project whil i am waiting for the proper stuff to fly.. I replaces the wires on the 3 Servos and 401.. Century gave me a new motor and Main gear and a few people on RCg contributed to the helping ever seince the Swift fire... anyways here are some pics after i rebuilt the heli and im just waiting for an ESC.. Here is my Current Setup;

Century Swift 16
Costom FBL head
No stabalization system ;) It will Fly
Century 600 + motor 9 T pinion

Hey,

Well done on getting the machine back up and near to running again and also the 2 blade conversion, however do you intend to run with electronic mixers to allow the model to fly or go it without?

Reason I ask is that it sounds, like the rest of us that money is a problem when things go wrong and performing this type of modification should not be undertaken lightly.

The rotorhead as well, how do you know you have the right control ball lengths to make this work?

I'm not trying to put a downer on your plans but why risk making this sort of mod when you probably dont know that much about it yet to make it work in your favour, at the same time risking a lot of your investment if the machine does go in again.

I do not know anything about this sort of setup yet, so cannot even attempt to offer any guidance with regards to the Swift and flybarless, all I know is the extra power to the controls with the lack of a flybar in the way.

Just my perspective on this and not in any way personal.

nono.. its ok.. I am probobly not going to fly it for a while with the FBL setup.. once i get an esc im going to install the flybar back on and get it flying.. Once i get alot of flight out of it i might try it.. People are saying that it will work.. just take your DR down to like 30 % and add in 90 % expo...If this does work i will be happy but without a stabalization system there will be no 3D...

Hey,

Ah ok, it will be a good conversion if you do it as like you say from reading various articles flybarless heads are much more powerfull.

Time will see which way the model industry goes, flybar or not to flybar is the question.

I'm happy to hear you are now 100% sorted in your flight equipment again though, hope your flying soon.
