I want to order a cellpro 4s for the batts I have.. all I see are battery clamps on it. I assume this is for hooking yp to a car battery in the field.. what about at home? Does it come with an adapter to plug in a wall or do I have to buy one seperately?
Thanks,
John

I cut the clips off and replaced them with banana plugs.

You will need to buy a power supply that converts from AC to DC. Be sure it provides at least 10V and 5A. The new charger comes with the mod where banana plugs plug into the clips for your car battery. I still use those on my AC to DC converter just because I find it easier and the holes on mine aren't big enough.

I've got one of those battery jump starter thingees that has a 12V cig lighter socket on it. I went to Radio Shack, spent perhaps $5 on a 7.5 amp power plug wired it up and off I go.

Here's one with banana females built in.

I'll eventually, maybe get a proper power supply, but this set up works fine for me.

I am using this AC/DC http://www.mini-box.com/60w-12v-5A-AC-DC-Power-Adapter?category=13
You will also need to solder a connector between the AC and the charger. I cut the two clamps from the charger and put an Astro connector (male) which I can plug to an AC/DC (at home) or a charge cable with clamps (at the field).

LOL, guys - I don't know about you, but on my Cellpro, the clamps pulled right off the cables, revealing banana plugs already attached.

Seems to be a non documented feature ;-)
They should ship them with clamps disconnected to make it more obvious.
In any case, I prefer using a polarized connector (such as Astro Zero Loss).

Tantalon I went through the same scenerio a few months ago and i too use the Cellpro 4 , This was my answer to the problem. Reconfigured my old computer power supply ..
It's good enough for me and it works great !!! My own custom input location and jacks purchased at radio shack . No problems at all .So now you disconnect cables from box at home and bring Clamp connectors to the field for charge if need be. Pm me if you like .. .....Here are a few photos

Go here as it is pretty obvious:

It is also mentioned in the manual. This change has been made to the 4amp version about 2 months ago.
