I was getting ready to solder a micro deans connector onto a brand new 9.6v 1500mah nimh transmitter pack and accidently touched the two wires together. It was only for a second as the two leads started to burn my fingers and I let go. I had just completed a slow first charge on this new battery. It is reading 11.22v on my meter.

Will it be ok?

Note to self.....second cup of coffee prior to any soldering.

Hey,

You wont have any problems with the NiMh battery doing this, LiPo's can be more problematic but even they can be shorted momentarily without problems.
Of course it's ideal not to just incase but accidents can happen.

1 lump or 2 with that coffee? ;-)

Yes, you should be fine as long as it was just a quick touch. Even lipos can usually handle a very quick short without damage, and they are much more touchy then nihms.

In my experience, Li-Po's even with a momentary short like that will suffer damage. Ni-Mh, I don't think an issue
