Watch those Lipos - Fire (photos)

I just got a frightening phone call. My father's LiPo from his Honey Bee King 2 blew up this evening. It was charging in the garage when it exploded. He discovered the fire when fetching a beer from the garage fridge. Hot plastic shrapnel was everywhere.

He's cleaning up the mess right now, but did take a few moments to send over a few pictures. Scary stuff.

It sucks that happened to your dad, and glad that only the LIPo and electronics burned up.

But, I can hear the ribbing now...

Good thing your Dad put the charger where he did. Now I recommend getting a better charger :)

Did he do anything that might have hurt the pack before charging it?

Wow, lipo battery can be danger. Good to see your dad took off the battery from the heli. Get a good charger for your dad in Christmas.
