Without having to remove the engine to count the teeth, what pinion do I have?
I got the EP550 CF 3D Pro package. I'm looking to increase flight times... What's the stock pinion?

Pff, how lazy are you....
Standard pinion is 14 teeth.

haha!
Sorry man! I am lazy.. Agreed.
So, if it ahs a 14 in now.. I can't really increase my flight times? Smaller pinion =- lomger flights, right? And I haven't seen a smaller one than 14.

Wait, I think I coked that up... to get a higher head speed, I need a larger pinion right?? So therefore, if I am happy with my headspeed, I can get a bigger pinion, and therefore, reduce the amount of power I need to MAINTAIN that headpeed, thereby, reducing power consumption and increasing flight duartion??
Note: MAINTAIN. I think a bigger pinion would require more power to get to the headpeed I want, but once there, surely the engine will maintain that speed quite easily? So they key would be to have something like a 0, 80, 80, 80, 90 curve?
My stock kit came with 15T and a friend of mine was also 15T.
So my advise is you need to count yourself.
The amount of amperage drawn by the motor is depend on the loading of the motor, bigger pinion means higher load, but it does provide you with higher HS.

I fly a 13T in my 550CF. Get it here http://www.readyheli.com/901301_Pinion_Gear_Pack_13T_Gaui_Hurricane_550_p/901301.htm

Thanks guys.
So a smaller pinion would give longer flight times??
So Crash, that 13T gives you pretty good times?
Thanks guys.

Yes, smaller pinion will definately give you longer flight time.
