I just wanted to say hello to everybody on my first knight 50 sport post. I ordered one last night, this is my first nitro heli so I will place for sure some (perhaps stupid) questions here.
My first question is which servos are you running on this bird?
I already have a hurricane 550 and I put a JR 770 gyro on which I want to screw now on the knight (I get a spare 2100 for the hurri) with KB tail blades. But I’m not sure about which servo, which engine (Webra 55, OS or YS) and which pipe??
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks tom

Welcome to the world of Compass model Helis:thumbup:! You won't be disappointed! They are great helicopters and from what I've come to learn is they don't disappoint! Especially when it comes to my budget!
As far as your motor questions, I know that you won't be disappointed with the OS 50 Hyper, or the YS50. As far as the Webra 55, I don't know anyone that has flown that! So I can't comment for it. But from a power standpoint, both the OS and YS are top notch!
For the servos, I guess it depends on the amount you want to spend and the type of flying that you do! I run 9451(2)'s and also run 9252's on my other bird! I like to have alot of power and each of these servos are in the 90 oz range or higher. I think its best to stay above that! They are also pretty fast at 0.14/NR sec @ 60 deg or faster! I posted the 9252 specs and the 9451 or 9452's are faster and stronger!
Anyways, I know that everyone here is eager to help out in any way, and there is really not a stupid question, so fire away and ask! I'd rather ask a stupid question, than do something stupid and pay the price to fix it! Besides thats what the forum is for, to share your experiences to help someone improve their heli flying, or prevent them from crashing or even worse hurting someone ...

Thanks for your kind words Jeff.
I hope to get mine this week it comes from Heliproz, they are quick and not expensive.
What’s about Hitec servos?? I only use JR and Futaba but it seems that a lot of American pilots like to use those servos so which one would be the best choice for any kind of flying?

Yep you are in for a world of fun and stress free flying:-) I recommend if you need anything for the knight that you talk to Chris at RCHeliworkz.com He has really taken care of me. For servos im runing 9252's on my knight 3d, which is probly what i would use on a sport as well.

Keep us posted on how everything turns out.

I bought the sport about 2 months ago and will be getting my gyro on thursday and hopefully be attempting my first nitro flight on Friday I will keep everyone posted. Everyone has different opinions but I will be useing the 821's that came with my dx7 (duck incoming posters) while learning to hoover to try and save a buck. But I am taking a chance on servo failure because they are not rated for a bird my size. I am new also but will answer anything I can because I have gained a lot of knowledge in the past 2 months. Get a sims and use it. I plan on using the 9252 when I get the buck and will be running the 401 and 9254. I you can get local help. I have done everything by myself because I can't find local help. Good luck

on helis i have found that trying to save a buck will generally cost you in the long run. one crash could easily cost you as much as the 9252s

Youpieeee… waiting is over it will comes tomorrow morning. So please knight family help me out with information’s that I need to mount the sport correctly. I read a lot on HF and RR about this heli but there are some other points which are not cleared at moment like: What is your opinion about the 8mm spindle upgrade? Which would be the easiest governor to put onto the heli? Which pipe/muffler Muscle/Hatori or Align? More to come……..
Here some of my parts that I got meanwhile waiting the knight.
JR G770/S8900G
Mavrickk G5 main blades
Futaba 9252 CCPM
JR 810G throttle
TT50 engine (from a friend of mine)
K&B tail blades
Please show me your setup.

first - welcome aboard you made a great choice. where in europe are you from?

second-have you seen any of HC's videos? if you fly like that change the spindle, if your human leave it all stock and fly it with no problems.

I wish a Happy New Year 2008 to all of you guy’s.
So now the bad thing I will not have a chance to fly my Knight 50 sport. And I have to say fare well “old” fellow and have fun with someone else.

But……… I got his brother which came in named Knight 3D…… I got one because of some good circumstances. A good new year will start after building and the cold would be gone. I love this bird and you guy’s making me wanted it soooooo hard that I was not able to wait any longer. Now my first (K)night could co on thanks for continue supporting me.
