Friday eve I crashed into a tree (softly) hit the leaves anyways still bad enough to require swapping out the blades so I put on a set of plastic ones, flew for a while then was doing low hovering in the dark. Who left that dang shovel out! Yup I hit a shovel with the blades knicked it up pretty good.

I was able to reshape the blades, them plastic ones are pretty tuff. I replaced the main gear and shaft, the spindle (feather shaft), and the retaining pin. Flying was not so well after that. I made numerous adjustment to pitch and swash plate.

Last night I tore the whole head down, balanced the blades, set up the swash plate perfectly level with 1/2" of shaft sticking out, reattached the head. set pitch (not so sure about that being perfect), tracked the blades. Now if flies SWEET total control BUT I loose altitude pretty quick.

I'm not so sure I have the pitch set correctly but in trying to set it up with both motors unplugged I did notice the main motors lead is melted on the hot (red) side now I'm thinking I need to replace the main motor or can I just buy a new wire?

Any thoughts/input/suggestions welcome, thanks in advance

Night and day......last night still could not get the pitch right......I changed out the pitch control links, blade grips, and finally put the wood blades back on. Now it seems my pitch problems are solved but now its more squirely than ever.....back to the drawing board. Argh!

When setting the pitch. Hang the heli by the flybar vs. having it sitting on the bench. This way you will get the 10/-10 that is spec'd in the manual. Make sure that the slider on the main hub is centered top/bottom (while it is hanging) before adjusting the pitch on the blades.

There was actually a great thread on doing just this on Helifreak.. My bookmarked link no longer works..:(

Make sure your padles are perfectly horizontal, even a little bit off and the paddle will cause erratic flight. Just one more thing to check.
