Fellas, I am waiting for a 500 glass canopy to be available at the usual online shops to use as a plug. I will make a mould to be able to lay up any type of canopy we want. I will be able to change size/thickness/material.

SHHhhhhhhhhhhh.......................... ;)

Anyways..... Man we shouldn't be putting Trex 600 canopies on our Logos. That's a sin.

Hey, I am completely sold on Logo 500 / 600 heli's. The engineering and innovation in these helicopters is outstanding - and I can say that with some authority since I 've spent the last 40+ years as a mechanical engineer. The T-Rex canopy, is just a skin--it's the stuff beneath that skin that really counts.

Do it!!!! If you decide to make a 600 canopy too, I will buy one if it's better than the stock one without being to heavy. :cheers

I have been trying to locate one but everyone is out. I plan on making a bunch of these. At $85, the price is a bit steep to order several. I can offer to lay up a few extras for the fellas here at much better prices and beefier lay-ups. In the mean time, I may try my rex 600N canopy when I get home.

Sign me up! I'd be tempted to see what could be done with things like not closing the rear end of it, too...

I realized one thing that I'm having different problems on my 500 than others with the canopy. When I bought it, I'd ordered a spare, but noticed the spare already had tears, so I just flew it first figuring I'd rather endanger one with imperfections before the one that was still good.

What I just realized is that the spare is FG, which is quite different from the plastic one. I've noticed it's prone to tearing (duh), plus seemed to require a lot of trimming around the front two servo arms to get clearance. The hole there now has two pronounced "bumps", squaring that end a bit. Without that, the links would click as they rode on the FG edges.

It also doesn't have the overlap at the rear, and the two sides end up with about a one inch gap back there. Not sure why the overall shape is so much different.

In flight, it seems to resonate some of the sounds and buzz on it's own.

Maybe it's time to try the plastic to see if it fits any better...

Well..... I know someone who just got a 6003D kit and the canopy has been upgraded in various spots. I didn't see it but got the PM a few days ago. Maybe they will chime in.

I am having difficulty locating a glass canopy to use for a plug. Don't know about the price yet. In order to cover my costs, it should be less than half of what they are charging everywhere else. If anyone can find one in stock here in the US drop me a pm.

Having owned more than a few Logos prior to the new line I can tell you how Mikado works, it is a fair bit different than Align.

In short you might order a part, same as you did before, only you get the part and it is improved. No one said anything online, no big announcement they just changed it. In thelast month there have been a few revisions, these revisions did not require recalls or concerns so no need to worry imho. But to give you the heads up, I did myself notice without any knowledge a few new things in my latest 6003D kit.

The landing gear now have a min air idea where the skid pipes are held firmly in place by setscrews on inside of the landing gear, real nice, can't see them and they hold with no glue etc needed now. The pipes go in super easy as well, no force is required as the holes have been opened up abit.

Next I noticed the black plastic core of the one way is no longer with the side flex tabs, it is now what appears to be a kevlar, or yellow composite material with no plastic flex fingers and looks much more durable than the very first ones out.

Frames have dimples to firmly align and hold the motor plate in perfect position now.

Oddly enough my canopy seems to be abit beefier on the edging now as well compared to my first one.

So in the end, they are listening guys. You don't see the big guns from Mikado much on here but they are active and listening and doing what they can. One thing to note is the new kits are flying off shelves faster than they can make them so they are working OT to catch up actually. I would suspect we will all see more parts, more kits, and more of the conversion kits available after the new year.

Peeps like Danny provide Mikado with allot of pilot experience and he is in part greatly responsible for many of these revisions. Of course as well all you people here voicing your likes and dislikes does get noticed and is always taken into consideration for future improvements, cheers.
