Hey guys,

Just wondering as to why I'm seeing that people are running stunt mode 1 and stunt mode 2 and then of course you have your normal hover mode.

Any how what I have set up in my heli is regular mode for hovering and foward flight and so forth, my head speed is set at 1800. Then I have as we call it 3d mode or stunt mode the head speed is 1900 rpm which with the multi gov seems to be really nice.

So back to what I'm asking why the two different 3d modes or stunt modes what ever you want to call it. Can you really tell a difference between them??? I know that I only have 100 rpm difference in mine from 1800 to 1900 but thats only one change. I see that a lot of guys are going 1750-1800-1900 and so forth can you tell the difference between 50 rpm??? Also should I be turning a higher head speed in the 3d mode

Thanks Daniel

you can set any 3 of the flight modes however you like. there are no presets. so, asking if you can really tell the difference between 1 and 2 makes no sense...it's just another flight mode. if you don't have a gov, you could set up two different sets of curves....maybe a tall 'v' and a short 'v', for example.

on electrics, i like to set up a flat throttle curve at about 92% for Idle1 and a slight v-curve that peaks at 100% for idle2...and, yes you can tell the difference.

I have normal, mode 1 and mode 2 set up. Mode 1 has a fast head speed for performance flying. Mode 2 I have set up with a very slow head speed that gives me extra long flight times when I just want to slumber around and get flight time in to get better at orientation. I am still pretty green so I don't know if this makes much sense or not but that is how I have my two idle up modes set up.

I have 3 flight modes (normal and Idle 1&2). I go the other way. Normal mode in has a head speed of about 1650. Idle 1 with 1900 and Idle 2 with 2100. You can definitely feel the difference. This is, in my opinion, a better setup because you will ramp up your head speed as you go through the idle toggle switches. Kind of like gears of a car, you shift gears to go faster one way and slower another way.

Some people will also have less negative pitch in Idle 1 so as to give them a different flight characterist for loops and rolls only with full negative deflection at Idle 2. I have the same pitch curve on Idle 1 and 2.

I have set three modes, norm , stunt 1 and 2 . I wanted norm for a tame flight with not to much neg pitch at bottom stick might even experiment with S curves in this mode for that super steady hover,

I have then increased the RPM in two intervals as I am just starting out with a gov and have never checked my head speed before , So with two diff RPM in the stunt modes will let me play a bit to find what suits best, I am running both stunt modes with a V curve at the mo.

what I might do is set norm with a low head speed and a S curve with a flat spot about 3 quarter stick with minimum negative pitch for super stable hover.

then i might set stunt1 mode for FF with a grater head speed and with more of a linear curve with still only about -5 neg pitch

and then stunt2 mode for 3D with the highest head speed and a full -11 +11 pitch range ..

I am still not sure what head speeds to put in for the diff modes I guess I will have to have a play at the field to work out whats best, unless any one can give me the best recommendation.

Ok so it sounds as if some of you have differnet throws in with the different rpm settings, which would make sense i guess if your getting crazy with the heli you would need more throw.

So my next question to ask would be at 1900 for my 3d rate should I raise the rpm up after the engine breaks in, as of now i have about 13 flights on her and am still running a head speed of 1900 in the 3d rate. As I said I'm running 1800 in just reagular flight mode.

So thats about a gallon of fuel I've burned up and its been a lot of fun for sure. I like flying this heli over my 450 se any givin day of the week.
