I recently purchased a Thunder Power TPE-40BSG4 ESC. I e-mailed Thunder Power with a couple of questions but haven't received a response.

1. Is it essential to use the battery sensing circuit or can the speed control be safely used with just the battery input and motor output leads?

2. This speed control is designed to be used with a 4S battery but the battery sensing circuit has only four wires- wouldn't this circuit only be able to sense three cells or am I missing something?

3. When I hooked up the speed control, battery, and motor to program the speed control, both the speed control and the motor became warm, even though I wasn't running the motor. I can understand the speed control becoming warm but why would the motor begin to generate heat?

4. Lastly, I am in the Southern California area and am trying to locate a hobby shop that sells the Thunder Power speed control programming card- is anyone aware of any hobby shops that sell this? The only place I found this online and in Canada.

Thanks.
