Hi all.

I will be running a separate BEC in my Mini Titan.
Can someone please give me some advice on where the best place is to mount it?
I will be mounting my receiver on the outside left of the frame, as shown in the manual.
Also, can someone maybe post some pics of how their wiring is routed on their heli (servo wires, motor wires, ESC wires, etc)?

Any help of advice will be appreciated.

TIA

Is there no one running a separate BEC in their Mini Titan's?

What is the benefit of running an already existing BEC in the TT esc? you would add extra weight by means of the addicitonal BEC and battery to power it. The gain of flight time with your idea is insignificant unless I missed your point.

A seperate BEC gives you a bit of added redundancy and depending on which you go with, the option to fine tune your output voltage so you can run your servos at the same voltage they were designed to produce the max performance.

I was running the stock esc and motor combo, dx7 with ar6100. My last flight had some kind of lockout. The motor kicked off and I had no control, wagged the stick all the way into the dirt and never had a bit of control, servos worked fine when I walked over after the crash.

I don't know if the stock ace esc is designed to continue feeding power to the radio when it overvolts/temps and goes into protection. But, a seperate bec will (should) prevent this from happening again. I may lose my esc but should be able to have control no matter what (provided my rx wasn't the source of the problem I should be good).

You don't need a seperate pack for a bec so I think the added weight is really going to be a minor concern. I don't know where I will mount it yet but probably on the bottom side of the battery tray. I bought the CC 10 amp bec and the programmer that allows you to connect via usb to pc and adjust settings. I figure if nothing else I will get all my servos to 6v and see a bit better performance from them.

I placed the BEC just behind the rotor on top of the frame and the GY401 inside the frame. I'm using a separate 2S Lipo 1050 mAH for the servos and Rx / Gyro.
I placed this secondary battery on the side of the bird. The BEC I'm using provides 5 and 6 Volts.

I'm flying this bird on 4S with the CC45 ESC which explains why I'm using a separate BEC.

Happy flying.
