I'm still trying to properly rig my new Hummingbird 3-D......having a terrible time with yaw control.....I recognize first that I need a good gyro (presently using a gws pg-03) and would appreciate any suggestions as to which HH gyro would be best. Secondly...as a newbie I'm not sure I have the tail rotor mix setup right.....It yaws terribly as i add or remove collective.....it otherwise flys sweet even in a small wind. Any help would be appreciated. Dave

sounds like the gyro. I know Bimmerm3 has some experiance with this gyro as he has one on his T-Rex. I would recomend the gy240 it's light and works well on micros. get a good fast micro servo like the Blue bird 306 or a HS 50 for the tail. your head speed needs to up there pretty high as well around 2500-3000 rpms.. for a micro.. just to fly properly. this may be part of your tail yaw to low head speed.

good luck.

Thanks again! I wasn't aware the head speed needed to be that high.....I'll bring it up a bit tonight to see if there is a difference....Also..I'm using an HS-55 on the rotor.....is it too slow?

Also, when using heading hold gyros like the GY240 you will not want any tail rotor mixing.

missed that part when I first read that about the mixing.
