Headspeed on Century Hawk Sport

Hey guys,

Just setting up my little Hawk Sport for some 3D action.... so to speak.

What had speeds are you running in normal hover and stunt hover? I am not using a governor, just throttle curves.

I set it yesterday for 1550 on normal hover and 1800 in Stunt mode.

Hey Bart,

I borrowed DanW's last week..... Darren (Let's Go Fly) and I tach'ed our birds yesterday. It is amazing how high a head speed we were flying at !!! Now at least I feel my normal mode is correct, just not sure about what I should be running on the Hawk Sport in Stunt mode. I know my Gohbee Stunt is up around 1900, but the Hawk seems toooooo high set that high.

Of course it depends. I'm using Mavrikk Pros. I run about 1750. I don't have a governor, but I wish I did. The Mavrikks don't seem to have as much lift as the stock woodies, so I run it a little faster than most. (and more pitch too)

If you are running the high head speed, consider getting the thrust bearing kit.

I don't do any hard 3d... just rolls and loops. But I'm happy with the way it runs and rolls.

Hey great Mark.... thanks for the info. I thought 1800 sounded close, just still a little high. I am using stock woodies on it right now. I have some CF blades, but haven't put them on it yet. (TT 550's)

I have MAH on one, and Funkeys on the other and running about 1800 in stunt.
Could probably go higher, but working on orientation for now..

Hey thanks Lamebird !!! I am in the ballpark, now time to start playing !!! I have been slow at trying the 3D stuff, but now is the time. I am going to flip and flop, even if I tear something up !!! :smokin:

I had it hogher, and backed off a bit to slow it down. Was real quick in cyclic..almost too quick. I'd rather not rely on exponential.

I have the 550 TT's too. I only tried them once though, the weather sucks now.

I believe you buddy, those Mah blades are lightning quick. :)
