Not sure if this has ever been discussed on this site, but I ran across it while browsing UAV camera ships... not sure I even want to know how much it costs, but it would be cool to fly... I'd be curious to know if anyone has used one.

I have been to their factory, and was very impressed! But don't expect your credit card to be able to cover it :)

Funnily enough Bruce, it is the very same! Lovely purchase it was :)

Ron, it is a blast isn't it. I have had it up to 250 feet and it gets real small then :)

so how do you get your heli down from that high without wrecking it? let it fall till you can see it's orientation? binoculars?

I've been in to Photog hobby for about 10 years and primarily shoot military shots but I also like the Heli's.
All of the ground phtography that I've been doing looks good, but the High altitude shots look a little better to me, the more I think about it,,
Does anyone know where to buy one of those AP2000i stabiliser units?

:(

Mark is a regular poster here, so you can ask him any questions. I thinkhe is Autoeject on RR.

Cool thanks,,,

It looks like there is an IR Sensor that goes with it as an option,.

Do you know if I have to get three extra gyros for this sysytem, or are they built in?

The 3 gyros are for flybarless applications. To use the IR stab. you just need the FMA IR sensoer, which is also availible from Marks sites. Its all you need for AP.

Thanks,,
It looks like that is a little out of the budget this month with Christmas coming up,
I'll pick all that up January.

I'm also getting one of those Camera Platforms.
I don't shoot photos professionally, I'm just doing it more for fun, I need to get somwhat proficient at it for next years trip to Bagdad. I think those would be some pretty cool Videos to bring back.. My Very own aerial video/photos of Iraq from a TREX450. But if I can squeeze a TREX600 in my maintenance gear I'll take that one.

sugarbaker,

sorry for the delay. well the AP2000 makes a big difference but just take it nice and slow. youll get in trouble quick trying to desend to fast from high enough. i find that a few clouds in the back drop help with high altitude hovering and desent
also. no binoculars used in the creation of this post. hehe

ah yes... the ap2000 might give me a little more comfort when the bird is that far away. one of these days I too will have the added stability of an ir sensor. Thanks for getting back.
