My Phoenix simulator keep crashing (that is, the simulator program crashes, not the helis). I just upgraded from 1.04i to the 1.05 for no avail. The simulator keep crashing crashes when I try to select certain heli models. If the model selection goes well, than the simulator runs with no problem. For example, I just installed the Blade CX2 but Phoenix keep crashing when I try to select it.

Anybody else has the same problem?

Thanks,

Kam

The latest 1.05 beta for me crashes in 64bit Vista with PROCESS_HAS_PAGES_LOCKED.

Which really sucks.

Haven't got the problem you have though.

Are you running the latest video drivers? an upgrade will probably fix it.

Kamtsa Is your pc upto running the sim ???????? If your system is on the marginal side the extra strain on the system running at 100% it will overheat, putting the pc into thermal shutdown. Just make sure your pc can run at the minimum specs, if not an upgrade is in order good luck

Yes, it is upto running the sim ;-)

The problem is not with the simulation but with selecting different aircrafts. I have no problem running simulation with the default model. I have this problem from the beginning but when I tried to upgrade from 1.04i to 1.05 it got worse. Even with a clean install from the original CD (V1.03.c) the simulator crashes when I select certain aircrafts (e.g. that auto gyro, I think it is called Ciavro or something like that. I was never able to select that model).

I contacted Phoenix and they are responsive. Hopefully it will be resolved.

BTW, one thing I learnt is that if you want to wipe Phonenix completly from your computer, it is not sufficient to uninstall. You also need to manually delete PhoneixRC from ProgramFiles and from MyDocument. I am not sure about the registery.

first up my computer is well in excess of what's needed to run this software and when i down loaded ver1.05 it crashed so hard i had to uninstall all software in my computer including windows and re install all drivers and now i can not even get my original disc ver 1.04i to load it installs the install wizard asks you if you accept the terms etc

and when you are prompted to install it says copying files and then my disc drives starts speeding up and slowing down and won't progress any further if i try to cancel it won't let me and i have to eject the disc to stop it manually all of my other software loads from disc great

and this is a disc that i have installed twice before once on the previous computer and once on this new one looks like it might be time to place it in the bin and buy realflight

anyone have any ideas as even after a total reformat of every thing it still will not load but the disc is unmarked

anyone in aussie (brisbane) got a disc they could loan me and i will pay for your efforts to see if it is the disc as all my other discs load just fine

i have spent over four hours trying to solve this problem so now i am going out to the garage to play with some hammers and heavy objects to vent for a while:rolling

Have you tried copying the CD into a temp folder and installing from there?

It sounds like a problem with your optical drive.

FIRST UP PHOENIC RC ARE TOTALLY THE BEST AMAZING CUST SERVICE

been there done that i have also run the disc on another computer and had the same results

i have borrowed a copy of realflight 3.5 and that loads up and runs just fine

ran a full diagnostic on all components in the pc and all came up roses

on sunday night i contacted phoenix rc via email and told them of my problem and they replied very fast on monday morning at 09.32 am and are sending me a replacement cd free of charge as this is not the first time that i have had problems with this disc had the same problem on another pc previously

i ran the disc through a professional copying service checking machine and have found dropout's in the data at 83.6% progress so that may have been the problem

all sorted and very happy now

I experienced somewhat the same thing. With me, it's happened to me twice when changing some of the heli parameters. Luckily, the last changes I made were saved before the application crashed, so I was able to relaunch the app and select the modified model.
