The G3.5 and the G4 major difference is the Graphics and it does test your hardware to the limit. The little select buttons on the controller and the zoom window are just little add on, nothing of importance. The G4 does not run on one of my laptop anymore which used to run the G3.5, now the jittering is unbarable. I am a gaget person so everything I have is high performance, I am running G4 on my new laptop which works great. For me there is no tearing but occasional jitters which really does not bother me that much. The graphics is much more stunning and flies more real if that justifies to the $200 upgrade, it does for me but may be not for you. I am very happpy because the graphics is much better and I got the hardware that works fine with it. The G3.5 has the advantage of running on most of the hardwares out there except may be the dirt cheap PCs or laptops. I am hoping one day Edgeknife will add interactive games in the G5 upgrade. They should have added shadows for the aircrafts in the G4 version cos it is difficult to judge the aircraft distance making it difficult to fly around objects. The simulator gets to be very boring after you have mastered the menuvers, I need some shoot them up to improve the fun and the skills. In the end Edgeknife has got to come out with the interactive game to appeal to a larger audience or some other simulator companies will. When the game is impletmented most G4, G3 customers will be willing to step up on the upgrade also other gamers. For now, I don't know if it worth it for you unless you are a helifreak like me.
