USPS Priority:

Shipped a REVO to Ontario in 5 days from MA here in the states. That includes
Customs delay. And when i sold my last heli, it got from MA to TX in 2 days. I even shipped some servos to Cali in 3 days. All in perfect condition.

UPS - Slow and generally careless. And once i saw the UPS truck go by on the day that my package said "out for delivery" and 15 min later the tracking said "delivery attempt made"

FedEx - 2nd choice, no qualms but they just tend to cost more that USPS and they have the same delivery time.

I ship my parts USPS daily. They pick it up at my maibox and it arrives 2-3 days later for the best price of all three. Prioritys assures 2 day.

If I order from the US for delivery UK I go USPS. Reasonabale charge and quickl. How about Calif to UK 3 days!!

However, I now have one from Nevada in the customs shed in the UK- 6 days from US and it will be a week more before delivery in the UK (from 3 miles away from me!!). Here I find UPS and DHL for incoming from mainland Europe very good and Express Mail Service from Japan excellent.

Just don't get me started on Royal Mail/Parcelforce the
UK mail/package service. (:arggg:)

USPS hands down. Fed-Ex is reasonably fast, but pricey. UPS plain sucks. Expensive, slow and it's a crap shoot as to whether your package shows up at all, or shows up unamaged.

I'm waiting for a UPS delivery that's been "out for delivery" for nearly 12 hours now and since it's 6:30pm, I'm highly doubfut it's going to show today. I could have driven to the store and back by now...

i am going to have to go with ups with things that are getting shipped cross country they are usually very fast for me and you cannot beat the tracking. the usps service is good if it is all on the east coast for me but their tracking stinnnnnks i will have recived the package and 3 days later it will say package recived tlike i said tracking is horriable for usps. fed ex well don't get me started i bought a 600 dollar heli it was coming from texas and it passed through kansas and it was delayed for a month due to a "hurricane" i checked the weather there was no hurricane nor one being predicted ugh.

USPS is the best way to Hawaii. FEDEX and UPS charge way to much to ship small parts and items. Everything coming to Hawaii is shipped by air anyway, so USPS is just as fast

I shipped an ebay package via USPS Prioirty Mail, 13 days ago and the package has still not to arrived. Investigated and determined that the USPS postal service screwed up and typed in the incorrect zip code on the label (human error). Understand that this single human error does not sum up the failure of the USPS.

So far, the USPS is unable to track the priorty mail package that has a tracking number on it. They say the tracking number is for signature and delivery confirmations. It appears the USPS priorty mail tracking does not provide tracking information like UPS, Fedex and DHL does (i.e. on truck for delivery, or arrvied at city hub at 5AM, etc.) The USPS has no idea were the package is, or if it will self correct and deliver to the correct zip code, or if it will return back to the sender (me). The USPS office says they will investigate and call me back. This was 3 days ago.. still no call back.

This has made the ebay sell look bad, and am at a loss for what to do. Something to think about when shipping, and need detailed tracking information (in case someone screws up the shipping address). Lesson learned; Check and confirm the shipping label has the correct address, if the clerk creates it for you.

I'm with USPS as well. I actually dont mind fed ex all that much, but then again I've only ever had like 5 packages from them. I have some serious gripes with UPS though, mostly with their insistence that you be at home for them to actually deliver it to you as well as their incredibly slow shipping (compared to the other two at least). Its kind of funny that whenever I find out that a company is shipping to me via UPS, the first thing I do is call in and tell them to just hold the package because I know the driver will never actually deliver it to my home.

Who do you like and dislike and why?

Can't say anything about UPS as I have never used them.
Fedex has served me well enough, but I received magnificent service from USPS.

I ordered a MinAir Spectra gasser by phone from a US dealer and had it shipped overseas to Rio, several thousand Kilometers away. USPS charged a mere US$75 for such a heavyweight, intercontinental shipment, and delivered it in 3 days too. What more could I ask?

The kit did sit in the Brazilian customs bureaucracy labyrinth for the better part of the following two months, but USPS had of course nothing to do with that!

How ironic, this is my first post and its about shipping companies, while I sit and wait for my new Heli to arrive.

I have to say the UPS has always taken great care of me. Now that I say that my new Esky Belt CP will either never show up or be damaged beyond recognition. They have been fast reasonably priced and no damage yet.

But I lived in Michigan and now in South Carolina and UPS have been the only ones that are willing to drop packages at my door if no one answers.

USPS has always been slow for me and I couldnt begin to tell you how many damaged packages I have received. (I have gotten a couple of magazines in a plastic bag all tore up and almost a month late.)

FedEx has been ok down here, but when I was in Michigan they would never leave stuff at the door. And Im talking about private residences that had great places to leave packages out of plain sight and out of the weather.

I've lost way too much stuff to UPS to trust them with anything expensive anymore. Their insurance is worthless and I hate dealing with them. They destroyed a pair of $1500 NHT speakers and wouldn't do anything to rectify the problem. Never again.

While I have nothing against USPS, I like to know where my junk is, so it's not quite as nice as using FedEx whom I have nothing but praise for. I often use their ground service and have never once had a problem. In most cases FedEx Ground is the same cost as UPS and often a day faster.

Don't mean to dig this up, but my wife and I were walking into our place the other day and we watched a ups driver literally throw packages out of the truck on to the ground. I was completely shocked!

Man its so wierd that so many people here have better experiences with USPS. Everywhere Ive lived you only use them if there is no other way.

Heres my latest, Tuesday HeliDirect shipped out my parts. Boston, MA to Charleston, SC, so I checked the status today cause they should get here soon. So the status on the web site says: "Status: Missent

Your item was misrouted. The error has been corrected and every effort is being made to deliver it as soon as possible. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

So the good news is they know they screwed up. But the bad news is where the hell are my parts? When will they get here? This is what I hate about USPS, no information, no accountability.

USPS: Puts small packages in the mailbox. Larger ones are brought to the house (driveway is ~1mi long) and all the day's mail is put in a trash back and hung on the door or, if too heavy to hang, put on the doorstep with the doormat put on top.
Once my stepson sent a letter with insufficient postage. The carrier put on an extra stamp and left me a note.

UPS: Used to do like USPS (above) does with packages. Now, however, gives the package to the dogs to eat. With the old tracking system, I could watch packages travel past my house to sit in a warehouse 20 miles away until the 6th day then get delivered. The new tracking system blows absolute chunks.

FedEx: Either tosses the package on the porch and hangs a uey IN THE YARD or puts a sticky on the door and tries again...in a few days. If I know a vendor uses FedEx, I go elsewhere.

USPS kind of sucks where I live, the problem is probably my post office. If I send a letter to some one in town it goes to petaluma (100+ miles) to be sorted and returned. Thats efficient. They don't get the slip in you P.O. box for pacage pick up for days after it's been there. They lost a video game I preordered for a week and a half. Keep in mind we are rural and they don't even have to deliver mail at all!
U.P.S I gotta give these guys credit, They negotiate litterally 100s of miles of hard core mountain dirt roads, littered with weirdow dope growers armed to the teeth. they allways seem to find the spot. But alot of packages look like they played football with them.
Fed-Ex, The only thing I've seen from them that I did not like is that sometimes plain unmarked vehicles. Private sub-contractors with no uniform, sometimes mistaken for tresspassers! Yikes!
