The thing I do not like about Fedex is they tend not to ring the door bell and assume I am not home. Perhaps it is just a local problem.

USPS for shipping to Canada for sure. The others will charge a brokerage fee, especially UPS. I believe if you use FedEx air then the brokerage fee is included in the price.

USPS..... small packages, they leave in my mailbox.... 2-3 days priority mail. When I get orders FedEx or UPS they typically come ground service which is 5-7 days. Also they require a signature here...... if I am not home, they leave a sticker on the door, not the package. Although I know my drivers and they will put their cell phone numbers on the ticket so I can hook up with them if I get home before they finish their route. I have been leaving a "sticky" note on the door with my signature and a note " Here, just say I signed for it" It only worked once :YeaBaby:

Back when I was making cameras for SAC imaging I shipped thousands of packages a year. USPS always got them there in 3 days from Ca. to Fl for LESS than UPS or Fedex!!!!

I also shipped many cameras directly to customers all over the US and never lost a single package and they were almost all delivered in 3 days or less (USPS Priority mail)

Awesome service! The US Mail is one thing that the government does right if you ask me!

My Logo 500 was shipped on the 16th and its still somewhere in the middle of the country after 5 days. I even paid FedEx Express Saver ($38) for a 9lb box and its not getting here any faster. So far I'm having faster shipping with USPS. Now I know why most of the heli shops use it. As you can tell, I voted USPS.

My company ships lots of stuff domestically and internationally (we make cell phones) so we have a very good negotiated rate with Fed Ex. I just shipped a box cross country for some ebay stuff I sold. It was 6" x 12" X 18" and 7 lbs and it only cost me $9.09 for second day service through my work. When I took the same box to the Fed Ex store they wanted $12.78 for ground service... I sent an entire baby car seat with base (which is a pretty big box) cross country and it was only $22.

I can ship most "regular" sized stuff using 2nd day service for $6 - $8 and I get a tracking number and insurance included... That is hard to beat...

I think all these services have thier issues.

UPS is the slowest, and the UPS Drivers sometimes get lost and deliver my packages to the wrong apartments.

Fed Ex has good rates for larger packages, but they are very careless and sometimes destroy your package. Just this week they destroyed a box I packed a Raptor e550 in, to where the guy I sold it to got the tail boom all bent bad. I've had several other items crushed by Fed Ex also. Had $1000 speakers also crushed by them in delivery.

Overall, my choice is USPS, fast, and cheap for smaller packages and they don't crush your items. They are a fantastic socialistic government run company!!!! Don't u love it when the government can do things better than the private sector!!!! :)

On smaller items, I go with the USPS, but would really like to see them develop an actual package tracking system. On larger items, I find UPS to be more difficult to use, and have compared pricing before on the same item, UPS was alot more money to deliver than FedEx ground. The folks behind the counter appear more friendly, and helpful also.
I have not had to file a claim with either, so I can't comment on that.

I don't care for Fed-Ex because because they have become slower on deliveries, I've had damaged packages, takes too long, and one of their drivers delivered my grill parts to my neighbors house in an unmarked vehicle.

UPS, slow, damaged packages, and my dog had to run him out of the house, while my wife was in the shower.......he just walked right in one door, and ran out the other. He denied being in the house. It's on record, so I don't look for any lawsuits if he did get bit.

I have had very few problems with USPS.

Well I voted UPS because they are overall the best. They ship any size (under 150 lb) and when it comes to signing for shipments, if I'm not home the driver often tries again that night (that's probably a local thing for me). Their hub is nearby me also.

USPS is great for the small stuff. But they can be a real pain to deal with when a signature is required. They have "forgotten" to leave notices in my box of the attempted delivery. And the lines at my local PO are always long and slow. They don't always reattempt a delivery either. If you miss them you sometimes have to go to the PO.

I don't like fedex mainly because of their "home" service which is what most internet retailers want to use and "home" service is just another way of saying "really bad" service. Slow (they don't deliver on Sundays, Mondays and Saturdays for "Home" service) and impossible to arrange for signing packages. If I am not home I would have to travel over 45 minutes to the fedex "home" hub which is a special ground hub and seperate from their main facility. And I'm pretty sure fedex waits until my wife leaves the house before attempting the drop off. I think they sit around the corner and watch for her to leave and then attempt delivery. lol. (I'm half kidding but they do it all the time, show up 10 minutes after the house is empty, it's eerie) The regular fedex hub is only 10 minutes away, so as long as it's regular fedex service it's ok, on a par with UPS.

After reading my own post I think it's probably a local thing for people. Who their driver is has most everything to do with how they like the given service.

Ordered a 1515 motor last week, it was shipped FedEx Home delivery, shows it left Reno Nevada December 15Th and no other information after that. Shows today as the delivery date....but I don't think thats going to happen. USPS priority mail is what I've started using, good rates and good service.

My company uses ups for daily shipments of small to medium packages- 100-125 per day. (seeing the condition of some of these packages incoming makes me cringe thinking of someones heli parts having to take a trip on brown). What a pain in the rear they can be. They come 4 times a day to drop off packages that they couldn't find in the truck despite the fact the computer tells them it is .I have NEVER had one issue with the USPS-not one! They always deliver and think they have a higher regard for the contents and security. Anything I ship myself goes priority and it is about 30% cheaper usually to boot.

UPS doesn't follow through with it's claims department and damaged parcels. I will never ship through them again.:thumbdown::mad::mad::BSS:BSS
FedEx isn't bad. Speed is decent and they do cover damaged parcels pretty well.
USPS is great. I haven't had a damaged parcel yet and cost benefit of services is off the charts.
It should probably be said that I have at least one package a day at my door. Most of the time, it's a small pile. Wife and I purchase just about everything via the net.

I voted USPS;), they are always on time and the rates are cheaper than the others...plus my mom works there, lol. I've had some problems with UPS and FEDex though. I mean the packages got to me on time, but if I wasn't home, which is usually the case, the delivery guy/girl just leaves the package at my door! Nice to know that my neighbor could be sitting cozy with my new bling and I'd never know a thing. Once they just threw the package into my patio!

I'd bomb UPS if there were any chance I could get away with it.

I will not us UPS at all USPS for most shipment quick and priced right. While I was doing RC boats I used DHL for shipping boat hulls with the best price and delivered anywhere in the country in less than 3 days ground.

USPS has never lost my package, UPS and FEDEX has. One was never found.

USPS conveniently leaves packages in the package hold box in my apartment, but will hold package for pickup at a neighborhood office after first delivery attempt when signature is required. FEDEX Home Delivery won't hold for pickup until after third delivery attempt. UPS and FEDEX will leave package if you sign the delivery notice, but as I mentioned, I live in an apartment, and those companies don't have access the package hold box because the USPS owns it. I really don't care to leave my packages exposed to the apartment foot traffic.

UPS and FEDEX pickup points are not convenient to my location.

Generally, USPS is less expensive for similar delivery times.

I really don't know how UPS and FEDEX compete in the small to medium sized package business.

If USPS Priority mail is an option when checking out, I will ALWAYS choose it.

UPS is ALWAYS my very last choice. I've had packages lost, smashed and missing through holes in the side of the box. I've had drivers come by the house with no box in their hand, leave a sticky note on the door and run back out the driveway (no, I have no dogs or other animals nor do my neighbors). I've had them too lazy to walk the 35 feet up the driveway and open the door to my Jeep, and leave the package on the front seat.

If Priority Mail isn't offered, I'll pay twice as much just to avoid having to ship UPS.

Depends on where it is shipped from, but I might start by saying I've had my share of problems with them all, I actually prefer DHL, but of the choices given I'm in FL, if originating in state-FedEx-saves 1 day, any where else USPS and UPS seem to run generally the same time frame.
